Do you have an SD card? All that LetterBomb requires is an SD card and an internet connection for accessing a website — no programs need to be installed AFAIK.

Wii U isn't hackable via Letterbomb iirc. If it is then that's not the safest method.
All you need is an SD card, your Wii U, and wiiu.hacks.guide (type that into your favorite browser's address bar)
that and vWii modding is significantly different from Wii modding. DO NOT try Wii methods on your vWii, that will brick the system.
what I mean is, different IOS, different exploits, a lot of stuff.
You still have Priiloader tho.

vwii guide is on wii.hacks.guide . do not use any videos or other sites, those can be outdated or inaccurate.

This isn't the forum for Wii U, but we can help you with Wii. If you've got like, another computer in the house, use that.

This actually happened to me by the way. We still have the Wii to this very day, it's displayed front and centre (even more displayed than the Switch)
I used to put the Switch dock on top of my Wii, but now it's closer out of the view

Yeah you do really need a computer
it's not even like I have my own, the only reason I'm typing this is my school computer, and I know I'm gonna get expelled if I do that on this

My browser / operating system: ChromeOS 14541.0.0, Chrome 131.0.0.0, No Flash version detected
You betcha you won't. Trust me - all you need is a 32GB+ SD card. (can be micro, with adapter) and I don't think they're even going to get you in trouble.

And how is that related to modding the Wii?

Also, you should really be doing your work in class, not playing games.

It let me install BootMii as boot2.

I think a safer/better method is Wilbrand, similar to letterbomb but more effective from what I can tell
(or maybe it just IS letterbomb, either way I retract previous statements as vWii mods much differently)

(removed by moderator - please do not encourage illegal activities on Scratch) you'll need to be packing serious heat in terms of external storage. I have literally 2 games on my 32GB SD in my classic Wii and it's already 20% used up.
(also I dumped my first disc on the 13th yaya)

Hey! After recently modding my new 2ds xl I'm been thinking “Well I have an old Wii I don't use anymore!” so I've been thinking of modding it. I've been doing some research in the past couple days on wii.hacks.guide and the WiiBrew Wiki, and I think I have the knowledge to follow the tutorial and know what I'm doing, and fix bricks that don't require hardware modification.
My question is: Is modding a Wii worth it in 2025? Also, what size of SD should I get? I have a 64gb for my new 2ds xl but I figure I won't need that much space because the Wii is a bit older.

It's a lot of fun so if you're capable of doing it then go for it!

2GB is probably plenty if you don't intend to store any games on it. If you do then of course you would want a higher capacity one or, more likely, a USB hard drive or flash drive.
