High Quality Profile Pictures
Does anyone have any tips/tricks for getting your profile picture to look good i. e. file type or size?
I'll use good looking images but they get very messed up.
Thanks!

I don't think you can get a profile picture higher than 500 pixels, it's the limit Scratch places.

-make it 500 x 500
-go to ezgif and make it into a webp file
-scratch may say that it’s a corrupt file, just keep doing it and it’ll work.

I am very sorry .The maximum quality of a profile picture is 500 by 500. Meaning there's no way you can get more high quality.

What I've always done is to create my PFP, screenshot it, and crop it to 500x500, then upload as a PNG. Seems to work pretty well.

While the image resolution isn't larger than 500x500, more quality is preserved, thus making it appear higher quality.

I have heard that converting it into a Webp usually brings a higher quality profile picture.

I have heard that converting it into a Webp usually brings a higher quality profile picture.I've tried to do that, but it seems like that no longer works. For me, it says that “The image is corrupted.” I've tried converting it to a gif, and using multiple sites to convert the pfp to webp.

You have to spam-upload it and eventually it will workI have heard that converting it into a Webp usually brings a higher quality profile picture.I've tried to do that, but it seems like that no longer works. I think you have to convert it to a Webp
Make sure the size is 500x500 pixels, though!

a lot of people make their profile pictures into a webp. you can do this by first making sure your pfp is 500x500 pixels (or just a square in general but i recommend 500x500 which is the maximum size), then go to ezgif.com. upload the file, click the “copy” button under the picture, then go to where it says “webp quality” and put it to 100. click “make webp” then download that and make it your profile picture.
it may take a few tries to upload it as your profile picture, as an error will pop up, however webp profile pictures are accepted so just keep trying to upload it until scratch accepts the image.
