i need to change my username

You can only change your username by contacting the Scratch Team, and you'll only be allowed to change it if it contains personal information or causes gender dysphoria.

If you would like to change your username, please make sure it either

- contains gender dysphoria
- is inappropriate/breaks the community guidelines
- contains personal information

If you feel your username falls under one of the items listed, please use Contact Us to continue with your username change. Please keep in mind to change your username to something you want, as ST most likely doesn't like changing usernames twice and will most likely reject your request if you want to change your username AGAIN.

If you're username DOESN'T fall under one of the items listed, which I don't think it is, then you will have to create a new account if you want a different username. Please also note that the Scratch Team will not change your username if your reason is “I don't like my username.”

No, actually. As long as the ST is sure it was an accident, you will be offered a username change instead of just being banned.

Which does not save anything to the servers, and only changes your username once, in one place on the page, and doesn't save upon reload.

It's also not visible to anyone else, or even any other browser on the same page or another device signed into the same account.

You can't change your username, unless you contact the scratch team and if you're lucky you'll get permission.
