this could work if it was like PPTBF but moderation issues need to be taken into account.

Perhaps instead of them being random, a studio (similar to the design studio) can be made with only approved projects by curators.

march 15-31: make a studio similar to SDS7salad3salad where people can add projects of cats8to16 and similar animals1THEKINGBOB3
april 1: add a row on the homepage called “featured cats”8to16 and randomlycake__5, 8to16 select projects from that studio to show on that row.

To avoid moderation issues, why couldn't you just rename the SDS and/or Featured Projects rows to “Featured Cats”, and have a joke SDS (like last year), or just feature projects with cats in them?

The SDS idea sounds cool! Maybe just replace the SDS row with projects for an added featured studio that's just about cats, so there's already existing projects.
