I actually have a topic XI that I've been meaning to turn back into a main (rather than spin-offs) topic… no clue why the spin-offs thing worked in the first place.

Also, the ban got revoked.

Edit: Fixed it. It's active as a full topic now.

Yes, but at that point, get Pokémon home, that way, Pokémon that exist in Both Violet and whichever version of Gen 8 you're getting could be transferred to the opposite game, as long as the specific Pokémon exists in both games.

If you want to play with the Kanto starters in any game, just get Lets Go Pikachu, and use Pokémon home to convert them to another game
(you won't be able to move Pokémon from Let's go Pikachu/Eve back after they've been moved to another game)
all of them are in Gen 8 and Gen 9.

But if $180 is too much for your parents, just get let's go Pikachu (If you want to convert any Kanto region Pokémon that you know is in the following) along with Violet, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is far better than Sword and Shield.
