btw the co-director said when we finish the script to episode 1, we can start storyboarding, and yet we haven't even got a single storyboarder.

Alright. So what does he have so far? And more importantly, whose script should we go with?

Pretty cool!

This poster did make me realize something, though. For the animators, it might be hard to animate the characters if they are just the default sprites. I think an anthropomorphic (idk if I spelled that right) redesign of the characters would be so much more versatile and work so much better.

For example, Scratch: Story Mode turns the main characters into anthropomorphic versions of themselves - https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/119821977/

They could just modify small parts of the default sprites across each frame. It's not that hard. Although we might as well make custom mouths for the chcracters to make for lip sync, but yet again, lip syncing is hard.

Fair point. I just brought the idea up because, again, versatility and the vast amount of use cases for them, but also because I feel like they fit in a bit better with the slice-of-life style of this show. They aren't just random creatures, they look like humans (in some way but not really) and that just makes it feel like it fits better.

Again though, fair point. We could totally do what you said.

I have a script planned out.
EPISODE 1 OPENING SCENE (Emojis are how the characters say it)
Giga is peacefully sitting on the house, until suddenly, the doorbell rings!*
Giga: Oop! Sorry guys, i gotta go to see what came, BRB!
*Giga is seen opening the door, that's where her surprise came!*
Giga: Oooh! A letter? That seems to ACTUALLY be my cup of tea!
*Giga opens the letter, then she reads it.*
Giga: "Dear Giga and Friends, all of you have been invited to be performers at The Great Scratch Circus!, You all will be doing fun tricks, like balancing on a ball, or doing a backflip as soon as you land on a trampoline! Respectfully, Mr. Milli"? (Note: Mr. Milli is a character who is only mentioned, he is never seen that much episodes, although maybe he will appear in future episodes, His name is a refrence to how Gobo's Friends stand for nanosecond, picosecond, terasecond and gigasecond.)

Giga: We're gonna be ON A CIRCUS?! YES!
*Giga rapidly opens the door and goes inside the house*
Giga: GUYS! GREAT NEWS! We all have been invited as performers to a circus!!
All except nano and giga, Nano is seen to be making an annoyed face: OOOOH!! AWESOME!!
Nano: Ugggghhhh… I HATE CIRCUSES!! They have clowns! Which i really don't like!
Scratch Cat: Nano, We have ALL been invited, it would be a shame if you didn't come!
Nano: Uggh.. Fiiiinnneee!! *rolls eyes, still in dissapointment*
Tera: But how will we go without going “tick tack”? Can't we just use a faster way to go to the circus?
Pico: Yeah folks, about that!
Gobo: There's gotta be a block that allows us to do that…
Scratch Cat: No worries, because according to my calculations, I HAVE SOMETHING THAT CAN SOLVE ALL OF THIS!!
All except Nano, who is still in dissapointment: OOOOHH!!
Scratch Cat: Follow me!
*Scratch Cat goes to the backyard and everyone else follows him*
Scratch Cat: This is my newest invention, THE MOVE STEPS BLOCK!!
Scratch Cat: You can adjust it's speed, for now it's on 10. But later when we go on the circus, we will adjust it.
*everyone looks amazed as they hear scratch cat explain everything*
*LATER…*
Scratch Cat: Ok, everyone got it?
All: Yes!
I just made an intro thingy for right before the part that you made.
I don't have much, seeing as I don't get to use the computer often, but here. (Sorry if you don't like it, it's just a funny start for the episode.)

Gobo: Good morning, Scratchy! How are you?
Scratchy: I'm doing good, what about you?
Gobo: The other day I wasn't paying attention and every girl at school asked me to prom and I said yes and then I had to switch between all of the girls but they found out and I asked them to forgive me and they beat me up. I learned an important lesson about honesty.
Scratchy: Gobo what in the ever loving-
Then Giga comes in with the letter.
(Sorry if it sucks)

I think the girl-thingy that gobo said isn't appropriate for scratch, maybe its just uncomfortable for me or something? Idk honestly.

It's also important to note that most middle schoolers don't even have prom. Prom is mostly a high school thing.

Probably around 7-9 minutes. If we wanna make it more, we have to split it into parts.

Alright, here's how the script extension is going so far. Again, I'm not done, but I've gotten a significant amount completed.

Episode 1: Circus Shenanigans
(Scratch and his friends are all hanging out with each other in Giga’s house. They are all doing different things to pass the time, as they are all kind of bored.)

(Giga is peacefully sitting and reading a book until the doorbell suddenly rings.)

Giga: (She looks up from her book.) I’ll get the door, don’t worry!

Scratch Cat: (Using his laptop. Says this line in a kind of tired and confused voice.) Who would even ring the doorbell at this time of day?

(Giga opens the door and sees an envelope on the floor.)

Giga: Wow, a letter? We don’t even get these too often!

(Giga opens the letter, then she reads it.)

Giga: "Dear Giga and Friends, your application has been accepted for performing at The Great Scratch Circus! Please take some time to come up with what you all want your acts to be about. Be ready by April 20th, which is the day our circus performs. Respectfully, Mr. Milli. (Note: Mr. Milli is a character who is only mentioned, he is never seen that many episodes, although maybe he will appear in future episodes. His name is a reference to how Gobo's Friends stand for nanosecond, picosecond, terasecond and gigasecond.)

Giga: YES! WOOHOO!

(Giga runs back inside and closes the door, giddy.)

Giga: GUYS, GREAT NEWS!

Nano: (Playing a game on his phone, then suddenly loses.) NO! (Looks bitterly at Giga.) Seriously, can you stop screaming?!

Giga: I promise this is important, alright?

Nano: (Scoffs.) Fine.

Giga: So you know how we signed up to perform at that circus a couple days ago?

Scratch Cat: (He puts two and two together and realizes that they got accepted to perform at the circus.) Wait a minute, are you trying to tell us…

Giga: Yep! We actually got the gig!

(Nano is annoyed. Meanwhile, everyone else is excited. Everyone except Giga and Nano begins to cheer in celebration.)

Nano: (Bitterly.) Are you all kidding me? I hate circuses!

Scratch Cat: (Confused.) Seriously? Why?

Nano: Mostly ‘cause of those clowns. (Mutters.) Those things are the bane of my existence…

Scratch Cat: Still, we’ve all been accepted. It would be a shame if you didn't come!

Nano: Well, how did I get accepted? I didn’t even sign up!

Giga: Oh, uh… well, I signed you up anyways, I guess?

Nano: Ugh, fine! I’ll come with you guys.

Tera: That’s great and all, but has anybody considered how we’re even gonna get there in the first place? It takes, like, three hours to walk to the circus! And I don’t even think any of our parents are willing to drive us.

Pico: Yeah, what about that?

Gobo: There's gotta be a block or something that allows us to do that…

Scratch Cat: Well, no worries, because according to my calculations, I think I actually do have one!

Gobo: Then let’s see it!

Scratch Cat: (Enthusiastically.) Follow me!

(Scratch Cat goes to the backyard and everyone else follows him.)

Scratch Cat: Behold my newest invention, THE MOVE STEPS BLOCK! You can adjust its speed, but for now it's on 10.

Gobo: So what does it do?

Scratch Cat: It basically moves you in whatever direction you’re facing.

Gobo: Cool! Can I have a try?

Scratch Cat: Well… alright. I’ll let you try. (He hands over the block to Gobo.)

Gobo: (He awkwardly stares at the block for a bit.) So… what exactly do I do?

Scratch Cat: Oh! Sorry, I should’ve told you that. You just tap it for it to work.

Gobo: Alright. (He takes a deep breath and hesitates for a moment. He then clicks the block. Its edges glow yellow for a second, and Gobo teleports a few feet in the direction he is facing. Gobo screams in surprise and falls down.)

(The friends all share a quick laugh- a well-meaning one, of course, not a rude one. Even Nano cracks a smile.)

Gobo: (He gets up, covered in grass.) Ugh… What happened?

Scratch Cat: Well, the block seems to be working properly.

Gobo: (He swipes the grass off of himself, and the grass falls to the floor.) So how are we even gonna use this, anyway?

Scratch Cat: It’s easy! We can just change the number to make it higher, look in the direction of the circus, and just click the block! You know, like you just did.

Gobo: Oh, that’s cool. I just hope the block doesn’t break… it seems kind of fragile. Like, this is literally made of plastic!

Scratch Cat: Yeah, I’m still working on that. We only have a few days until our performance, though, so practicing our acts is way more important.

Nano: (Condescendingly.) Well, wise guy, what acts should we even DO at the circus? We don’t have any ideas, do we?!

Scratch Cat: I mean, uh… we could… (Mutters.) …no, no, that wouldn’t work… (Speaks in a regular voice again.) Yeah, I’ve got nothing.

Nano: See? There’s no point in going to the circus if we can’t think of anything!

Scratch Cat: I’m sure we’ll come up with something, Nano. Just be patient.

Nano: Ugh. Fine. But I’m not going to perform up there.

Scratch Cat: I guess that’s fine.

Giga: Well, at least be in the audience then.

Nano: (Scoffs.) Whatever.

Scratch Cat: Uh… I’ll take that as a yes!

(EPIC MONTAGE MUSIC BEGINS! For the first 10 seconds, Scratch and friends are seen brainstorming about different ideas. They get things around the house and start using them to practice what they want to perform for the circus. Nano is mostly uninterested, and is just hanging around for the most part. The entire montage lasts from 30-45 seconds. Day turns into night, and the group is finally winded from practicing all day. They are relaxing in chairs in their backyard, and backyard lights can be seen all around the grass.)

Pico: Oh, man, that was… (Yawns.) …a lot of practicing.

Scratch Cat: (Tired.) Yeah. That was.

Nano: (Laughs snarkily.) Suckers. I’m not even that tired!

Scratch Cat: Well, you weren’t the person practicing their acts for hours on end.

Giga: This is honestly the most fun I’ve had in a while, but… whew, was it quite the workout!

(The group shares some quiet, genuine laughs with one another. Nano starts to doze off and snore quite loudly.)

Scratch Cat: Oh, look at that. Nano’s already sleeping.

Gobo: It’s honestly really late. I think we should all be heading home.

Tera: Yeah, it’s pretty dark out.

Giga: Alright, then. I guess we can call it a day.

(Cuts to Giga holding the front door of her house for Scratch Cat, Gobo, and Tera as they exit the house and walk out of sight. Gobo is pushing Nano along, who is still walking but in a half-asleep state. Giga then closes the door and heads back inside.)

(TIMESKIP CARD: April 20th)

(The camera points to the sky, before panning to the front of Giga’s house.)
