Donating to the poor

Hello Scratchers all new or old!
My greetings to you all this Christmas Eve(UK).I feel that people from scratch can reach out to the poor more through donating across these 7 last days of 2024.I hope this isn't asking for too much!
Q.A
Question:
Why do we need to donate?
Answer:
It's important the homeless have a good fresh new start in the New Year so they don't sleep on the streets with no food supply or water.
Question:
How do we get the Scratchers to do this?
Answer:
We ask the ST(Scratch Team) to make an annoucement about it in order to make sure they have hoods over their heads. The Scratchers don't need to ask to donate too much money.
More questions?Let me know.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
If this might be the last post I make this year(remember might) see you in 2025!
Yours sincerley,

Donating to the poor

Are you suggesting that the Scratch Foundation directly donate to charity, or should they just encourage Scratchers to donate to charity?

Also, do you have any particular charity in mind that should be donated to?

Donating to the poor

From the internet:
SCRATCH provides services which relieve the effects of hardship, disadvantage and poverty for individuals and families living in Southampton and the
surrounding.
The question you asked:
Are you suggesting that the Scratch Foundation directly donate to charity, or should they just encourage Scratchers to donate to charity?

Also, which charity do you have in mind as a target for donations?
Answer:
It's basically both because once you encourage Scratchers to donate the Scratch Foundation automatically sends of the money.

I don't think you're using this forum correctly. This forum is not for QnAs about donating to the homeless.

We understand what you mean, but it's suggestion that scratchers can explain what they think and help build up on it.

Does anyone have an idea of how much money we might ask the scratchers to aim on giving?(Less than 10 or 20 perhaps)
We can make a bit of a vote
If we aren't able to donate that much in 2024's last 7 days then we can do some more in the upcoming year of 2025

The majority of Scratch's users are children, who likely don't have the means to donate (except for getting their parents to do it for them).
Donating to charity is a good cause, but it likely won't be feasible on a site aimed at and primarily used by children.

Hey, it looks like you meant to post this somewhere else! This forum is for suggesting new features for Scratch. If you're looking for help with a specific project or issue, you might want to try posting in the Advanced Topics forum instead. Hope that helps!

I understand this, but before you even log in on Scratch, there's a donate button so I guess the Scratch Team must think their parents must being doing it for them already

maybe the Scratch Team can encourage them.

I think that with the donations sent to the Scratch Foundation, maybe a certain amount of it goes to the Scratch Foundation and another bit goes to the homeless and charities? Also the ST should definitely let people know what charities they're donating to and where the money is going.

Maybe like 20% of the money can go to the homeless? Then, if someone sends £150, £30 goes to the poor and those in poverty/homelessness. Then the Scratch Foundation can still run but the homeless also get some money and help too

And they should also encourage people to bring in real things, not just money- maybe things like hot meals to homeless people in your local area, or sanitiser, soap, water and more. That way, even children can help by bringing some things in their house to give to others.

That's an amazing idea! I hope the scratch team allows this!

Hmm this seems nice but Scratch is probably already struggling off just donations so this might be hard

On the home screen, before you log in to your account l,it already has a ‘donate’ button,so I don't think it will be a big issue, but thank you though
