WHY
Scratch was originally ran by MIT, a collage, so it gets the .edu domain, which is considered more trustworthy then ,com, also, I think that scratch dot com is a dj'ing supply store.

WHY
@Catscratcher07 scratch.com is basically a dj books and education for DJ'S. The .net, and the .io domains are nothing or for sale. The .eu is IDK, it just gives me a warning that it's not safe so don't go there.

WHY
Scratch didn't choose its domain. Because Scratch was created at MIT, it lives under MIT's domain, “mit.edu”.
However, the Scratch Foundation does own https://scratch.org/, which is a completely separate website.

mit is for MIT
.edu stands for education which makes it more trustworthy at school (scratch also teach kids code also)

So since Minecraft took down Minecraft.com (It was an ship website I guess) and it redirects to minecraft.net then why would scratch.mit.edu take down scratch.com and make the same thing as Minecraft did?

So since Minecraft took down Minecraft.com (It was an ship website I guess) and it redirects to minecraft.net then why would scratch.mit.edu take down scratch.com and make the same thing as Minecraft did? It’s a matter of if the DJ site would be willing to give their domain to Scratch for free, or if Scratch would be willing to pay money (as a non-profit) for a domain name that will only make them less trusted by schools and such.
To both, I’d guess no.

and the website was a mining company
and I don’t really think that scratch can do the same
