The cloud server is possibly down?
Yes.

Cloud variables are currently broken, and all we can do is wait for them to be fixed.
Unfortunately, no one seems to know what's causing issues or when they will be fixed.
This affects everyone on Scratch, so the Scratch Team is aware of the situation.

Please continue using this topic to discuss issues with cloud data

Still, same here:
Screenshot, my domain isn't whitelisted for images on scratch forums :<
It's either a problem with their DNS records, or their cloudfront server expired, etc

Based on all of the issues they have had in the past, I'm going to assume that they've got an expiration date on those cloud servers, like everything else in this “expensive” universe.

I honestly hope that they don't change servers again….
Last time that happened, all of the OLD projects cloud variables stayed broken, and so only the NEW projects cloud variables had worked. So if this scenario happens again, that just means MORE current cloud variable projects will stay broken over time, again and again…….. and again…..

I REALLY hope that this is something they can fix on all sides, and not just “another workaround for only a new generation of cloud based projects”..

It isn’t that bad tbh the worst that can happen is that you just need to rename vars no sweat
The worst that can happen is that you spend hours debugging your code, can’t play other online games and rename the cloud variables in all of your projects.

Then just rename 1 letter even if you have 100 projects it would take you less than an hour

Hello! Soooo, I recently remixed a project (https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1020053560) and the cloud variables didn't work. I got a little help from the creator and was told to change the names of the cloud variables but that did not work. The link to my remix is this: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1113970567/, I am on windows 10 and a DELL computer. Please fix it. My projects depend on it!!!

Sadly, all cloud variable projects…are down. (See above posts on this page for more details)

Cloud variables have been down for a long time, ST has made many apparent fixes to cloud variables, asking you to rename your cloud variables and such. But these cloud variables have been down for a LONG time, cloud variables are the lifeblood of some games. Does anyone know why they are down, I haven't seen anything announced by ST about it. The clouddata site is down. If ST every does fix this issue, most old projects will still be broken, assuming their creators don't bother to fix them.

I really hope they fix them. They don't seem to be working, I was trying to build a project and test it out on my Windows 10 Dell and Chromebook, but when I pulled it up, it wouldn't work? How long has this been broken?

With my research on DNS, running dig on their cloud data subdomain:
swee@peppermint:~$ dig clouddata.scratch.mit.edu

See how there's no ANSWER SECTION on the cloudfront.net subdomain?
Quite possible their DNS is wrong, or that their cloudfront server expired.
(sry for repeating this a couple times, I'm quite good at for those who are clueless about something)

Will stuff show up in the cloud data log when you rename the variable to THE ORIGINAL NAME ITSELF? Eg. - Rename ‘my variable’ to ‘my variable’.

This just started a week ago, after august, it got fixed but now it's broken again, because I played cloud servers in September and October and even November. It was like Tuesday or Wednesday from last week when it started.

Cloud servers are sadly down .People are no longer able to feel the happiness in scratch My friend is new too scratch(@rtfu1234),and he has only felt the feeling of online scratch games for 2 months! There are many people who are also joining scratch as I speak, but they can't try out the fun things that is there while playing with cloud variables. Bye!
