Imagine if some guy random in the movie theater cheers when the little girl *dies* and no one else follows with him

I'd say to just let them cheer, people have their own reasons to cheer in moments like that

Also, does anyone find it interesting how Gerald Robotnik is alive alongside Ivo Robotnik in the movie universe?
Yeah, it's an interesting choice on the writers' part
I'm kinda curious to see how it will play out differently from the games

(This is @PlaqueDoctorMonotone on another acc BTW) Yeah. I wonder how his involvement will coincide with Shadow's. Assuming Shadow's still Gerald's creation in the movie, it'll be interesting to see how the two will interact if/when they meet.

Also, I wonder how Ivo will transition from “I still want revenge on Sonic & Co.” to “I guess I'll help save the world from Shadow”. I imagine Gerald will have some influence on that.

I say don't let them cheer, because you should be quiet in a movie theater put of respect for other patrons
At the concert, it was a concert and thus cheering is encouraged and welcomed.
Different environments, innit?

Exactly, ignoring the fact it’s kinda embarrassing to cheer over a little girl dying in a children’s film, it’s just bad etiquette to do that in a place where they literally have constant ads saying to be quiet & not disrupt others peace before the movie even starts!
