there are numerous glitches, for one, the cloud variable service could be down, or you just need to rename it, or it is being updated more than once in 0.1 seconds, all of this could affect it

Edit: Your game doesn't seem to have a cloud variable at all? you need to select the cloud variable option in the variable creation menu

than as I was saying, any of the above problems could be happening

I don't think you have to save cloud variables in a certain way

they were saying it wouldn't update, you are right though, they don't need to be saved in a certain way

Cloud variables are currently broken, and all we can do is wait for them to be fixed.
Unfortunately, no one seems to know what's causing issues or when they will be fixed.
This affects everyone on Scratch, so the Scratch Team is aware of the situation.

Servers are currently down, but if they weren't I'd advise you to either rename the variable or create a new one. If those don't work, try saving then reloading the project page.
