I've been using scratch and I've using the PNG/JPG the pfps usually turn out low quality. It takes me several tries for me to upload a WEBP file and it's realy confusing why scratch doesn't support it. Why? And if a scratch member is using this please make the pfps and studio thumbs.

Scratch currently does not have webp support due to browser limitations and requiring additional development work. Im not sure if there are current plans to this but if you'd like, you can submit a suggestion regarding this by creating a new topic in Suggestions.

This is a weird problem because every so often I find myself able to change my PFP to a WEBP but recently it says that they're not valid/are corrupted. It's very annoying. Does anyone know why it's so iffy?

have you Scratchers try brute forcing the files (works with pfps and studios[citation plz])
you repeatedly try uploading the file and boom the pfp gets uploaded

It does support WEBP and I’m currently using one.

I’d recommend considering the recommendation above and the steps I outlined here: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/post/7417756/ That should give you the best chance of it working.

you need turn wepb into png/jpg file by replacing existed picture and click “ok” , the webp will turn into jpg/png

If they intentionally and fully supported it, it wouldn’t come out clear because they’d likely make it so that it gets compressed. Be careful what you ask for… /lh
