My browser / operating system: MacOS Macintosh X 10.15.7, Safari 17.6, No Flash version detected

I was checking my messages after coming home from school, and I got this error like some web browser page with a frowny face and it said “Oops! Looks like scratch has crashed. This error has been automatically reported to the scratch team”. And it wasn't the like blue thingy with the reload button it was something else.

Hmm… yes I know which one you mean. That usually happens because your graphics driver crashed, disabling WebGL in the process. Since you don't use windows, I don't have a keyboard shortcut to give you. What I can recommend is that you close all your tabs and windows and reopen Safari.

Ah, we meet again! Well, probably. But I don't know alot about tech and about graphics drivers crashing? What does it mean?

Yeah! Nice to see you again.

A graphics driver is the program that makes it so that your OS (mac) can communicate to your GPU (Graphics Processing Unit, a piece of tech inside your computer that does all the complex math for displaying stuff). Sometimes, your GPU can get a little too overwhelmed, and temporarily crash. WebGL is the software that lets Scratch render sprites. Without it all you see is a blank screen, and nothing works. You need to restart your browser for it to start working again.

Ah, okay. These are alot of quotes, haha.

But thanks for telling me, I wonder how it crashed, though.
