I'm bored of the standard health bars which fade from red to green and say 100/100 on them

How about having different effects while the health bar is there ( u can use a heart system like in legend of zelda) full health will be nowmal and low health will impure ur vision and have other disadvanteges. This sounds pretty cool!!1!1111!1

I really like the idea! I will definitely use your ideas, could you also give ideas for what the health bar looks like? Like a heart system is pretty generic

a branch with a bunch of leaves, some leaves fall when you take damage and they grow back from a bud when you heal

Another idea could be a hidden health, but your character has a different costume based on remaining health

Maybe an object that cracks and breaks when you get hit and gets fixed when you heal

It could be a health wheel like the stamina from botw.

perhaps you could decorate it to make it unique?
