Can you do a age reveal?
Yes. The basic rule on Scratch is that you can share either your age or birthday (obviously not including year) but not both.

There is no automatic system to detect this - but if someone tells the ST you did that, they will likely remove one of the two from public view. What? Why can't you say both? Ex. Someone born on 8/12/10. If they say that, how is it a problem? There are many, MANY people born on that day. It's not like they could use that to find them, especially if they don't say anything else about themselves (like their name).

(#7)It's always better to be extra cautious when managing a platform that's mostly used by children.

Even if you don't explicitly share information about yourself on Scratch, it's entirely possible that people could still find that information for themselves, especially if you have accounts on other websites as well. The less personal information you make available, the harder it is to verify that two accounts with similar usernames are owned by the same person.
Knowing that someone was born on 8/12/10, by itself, probably isn't enough information to accurately deduce a person's real-life identity—but it does significantly narrow down the possibilities, versus just a day (8/12) or a year (2010).

The Scratch Team has to keep users safe especially when most users are children. Contrary to popular belief the Scratch Teams goal is to help teach coding and not to create a platform for ten year olds to make friendships with random internet users and reducing the amount of info that people share keeps them both safe and focused on coding.

Also, allowing users to give out their age and birthday may make users think it’s safe to share more personal information which can lead to unwanted scenarios.(#7)It's always better to be extra cautious when managing a platform that's mostly used by children.

So, generally the basic rule IS that you cannot reveal both your age and birthday. However this isn't the whole story.
For the most part, you can reveal both of these freely - just not at the same time. You can reveal your age, or your birthday, but not in the same place. So you could leave a comment saying you're 14, then six months later leave a comment saying it's your birthday - no real issue with that.
I personally don't see a big deal with this - you can find more with someones name than their birthdate. A birthdate really does you no good if you don't know any other details about the person.
But I get what Scratch is doing. They're trying to protect users at all costs. So for the most part, don't worry about it. I've never seen them take down this before - it's more likely a guideline.

What I did was I did reveal my birthday, but for my name I just picked a name that started with the same letter(s). A lot of the people in the aesthetic community do that and also just in general some people do that

Yes. The basic rule on Scratch is that you can share either your age or birthday (obviously not including year) but not both.
If you show your age and it is valid, you can calculate the birthdate including the year.

(#13)You can't determine a full birthdate from just an age. The best you can get is a one-year range of possible dates.Yes. The basic rule on Scratch is that you can share either your age or birthday (obviously not including year) but not both.
If you show your age and it is valid, you can calculate the birthdate including the year.
For example, if someone is 16 right now, then they could have been born anywhere between December 2007 and December 2008.
