There could be a reporter that has a dropdown for each effect (ghost, pixelation, etc). It would look like this:
[Modnote: Image removed, as the link was dead]
What do you think?
Good idea, also here's a mockup:
([ghost v] effect :: looks)
YEEEEEEESSSSS THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT IT SHOULD LOOK LIKEEE

YES, SUPPORT!! I've always been bugged by making new variables, so this is the turning point!!!
( effect::looks
( effect of (... v)::sensing
Maybe even:
( effect of pen::pen

I think there's a Scratch mod that does that, or something like it. I think it would be a great feature for Scratch.
Yes. It's called Snap!

Why’s it in 2.0? Can you make a 3.0 mockup?

mockups
( effect :: looks)
( effect of [Sprite1 v] :: sensing)
when effect [= v] (0) :: looks hat // The dropdowns would be =, < and >

if effect [= v] (0) then {

} :: looks
// Works the same as if < = (number here…)> then, dropdowns are the same as the hat block

Maybe for the hat block, we could implement it like this?
when [= v] (10)::events hat
...
This could have other values, and would replace the existing block:
when [ v] > (10)
Edit: Also, for the second reporter, it could be part of this:
( of (sprite v))

2.0 is pretty good, but there should totally be a “I____I effect” block. (example 1: if color effect = 30?) (ex. 2: set y to fisheye effect)
that way you can make sprites react to stuff like starting to become invisible, ect. please reply!
Here are your blocks visualized for you
( effect :: looks)
Although, there's a workaround
change by (25)
change effect by (25)

fix it like this:
[scratchblocks]
[ghost v] effect::looks reporter
[mosaic v] effect::looks reporter
[pixelate v] effect::looks reporter
[brightness v] effect::looks reporter
effect::looks reporter
[whirl v] effect::looks reporter
[/scratchblocks]
makes
[ghost v] effect::looks reporter
[mosaic v] effect::looks reporter
[pixelate v] effect::looks reporter
[brightness v] effect::looks reporter
effect::looks reporter
[whirl v] effect::looks reporter

Probably, but it would make sense to have reporters for those types of effects if we're going to have a graphic effect reporter, and maybe other values as well that don't have reporters

Also, if anyone is wondering about the ST edit, Paddle2See added the "[effect reporter]" thing to the title
Edit: edit to remove possible confusion

i dont see the need for this as we have variables, someone talked about it being annoying to create new variables but its just a few so it shouldnt be that bad. size and costume get their own because theyre used much more than the effects which are rarely used
