First, well i got it when I was 10 or so, but I'm saying 5-8 year olds that also have scratch. You may speak for yourself, but I've had a Google account since I was 12. you think there's 6 year olds and 8 year olds happily dancing around with their own Google or Apple account?I think you're getting Google and GmaiI confused. Google does allow you to access GmaiI, but Google is not GmaiI in of itself. Isn't a google account quite literally just an email anyways?
And no I'm not mixing them up, to create an account you need to make your email first

Have you ever forgotten your username, password, and email connected to your Scratch account, or found them hard to remember? Well, no worries — you can use a Google or Apple account!
How to Connect
For this feature to work, you must connect your Scratch account to your Google or Apple account. Here's how:
To a new account
Click “join scratch”. Then, click “Sign up with Google” or “Sign up with Apple.” If you click Sign up with Google, you will be redirected to the Google account selection screen. Clicking Sign up with Apple will ask if you want to hide your email from scratch. In this case, you should click “Share My Email” so that your email will be automatically added to your Scratch account.
To an existing account
One could go to their account settings, click Account, then click “Connect to Google Account” or “Connect to Apple Account”. See the “To a new account” section to see what each button does.
Log In with a Connected Account
To log in with a connected account, there are two ways:
- Click “Sign in” then click “Sign in with Google” or “Sign in with Apple”.
- Type the Google/Apple account's username (or Apple ID if connected to Apple) and password.
- Enter the Scratch username and password. (of course)

This is an intriguing suggestion. Whilst I don't have a personal opinion on the subject (I believe it offers little benefits but has little drawbacks as well), it is worthy of note that both Apple (external link) and Google (external link) offer guides on how to implement this service to add additional sign-in options for users, as do several other platforms commonly used by developers for this purpose. I should note, of course, I am not a developer - so I am unsure how complex it would be to add this and implement this on the Scratch website.
My only question is that it could make the pop-up for logging in more complex and cluttered. Whilst people also use the log-in page, it is evident from the design that the page is not necessarily as commonly used as the pop-up in the top-right of the screen when clicking Sign In or Log In. I believe any such addition should seek to preserve the simplicity of the current log-in box, for the sake of the relatively young userbase of Scratch.

How does the system know which account to login to.

No support. The reason those sign-in exist is so the website can use your data (from google or apple). That isn’t something you want on a kids site.
Along with that, you can just use your google email to sign up.

imo, this isn't really worth adding. Scratch “remembers you” (it doesn't make you relog everytime you open the website) so you wouldn't be logging in very much.
Even so, from my experience, mail also requires you to log into it sometimes, so you aren't saving much time. Lastly, if you forget your password, username, and email simultaneously, I feel like there's a bigger issue. That's a pretty extreme example.

this probably feels like something a teacher should be discussing. We have no idea how school emails work, whether teacher accounts are effective, or (for most of us) what it's even like to use onetwo words: easily exploitableTwo words: teacher accounts……noone two words: school accounts

no support, most of scratch's demographic isn't allowed to create a google account, and this violates privacy since it's collecting data off very young kids.
gotta go now.
(#1)scratch isn't a social media. it has many aspects of one, but scratch is more of a bulletin board for random games and animations than a general social media.
most social media apps have this feature lol
(#1)no, just reset your password, or use a password saver (everyone should have one these days, it literally comes with browsers)
Have you ever forgotten your username, password, and email connected to your Scratch account, or found them hard to remember? Well, no worries — you can use a Google or Apple account!
(#1)this is complete utter spam. you're too fixated to the suggestion directory, so stop encouraging unconstructive spamjust to get into a directory.

i wasn't talking about the emails side of it all, that's held on tight.
