You can't really make “Private” projects. Even if you added code like:

if <not <(username) = [RandomScratcher123]>> then
say [You're not allowed to view this!]
end

Scratchers could still just go inside your project and see what you had made. I'm pretty sure it's also not allowed, but I'm not sure. The only real way to keep a project “Private” is to share the project file for it.

You can't make it so that only one user can see that, and I'm pretty sure that's against the Guidelines. Even if you used username code another scratcher could just go in to remove it. I'd recommend that you just keep the project unshared, share the file (I'm not sure how to do that), or post on some other website.

You can most certainly try that, however I’d advise not to as it is against the guidelines and you’ll probably get warned for it. If you are looking to share projects for a collab, just save the project file and use email or something.

Reminder that sharing emails or such on Scratch is not allowed. You may only do this if you have contact with the collaborator outside Scratch, and are not sharing any emails or contact information in Scratch.

Yes, they changed it because it wasn't meant to be that way, it wasn't intended. Private projects are not allowed. Turbowarp being able to access unshared projects back then was simply a bug.

You have two options- share it for everyone to see (trying to restrict viewing a project to only a handful of Scratchers in any way aside from yourself by keeping it unshared isn't allowed), or send the .sb3 file to people using means of private communication completely off of Scratch (you aren't allowed to share contact information of this kind, either).

Also, being able to look at unshared projects via the API was never meant to be a feature- and never was. It was a bug, and was patched so that people could keep the projects they wanted to be not visible to the public private.

There are ways to discourage people from using your project such as username and remix detectors, but all it takes is a little now-how to bypass them…if you want private projects that only some people can see, you are out of luck

Some users are saying you can use code to restrict projects - but that is not allowed. Using code to only allow certain people to view is not allowed and could get you banned.

The only way is to share the *.sb3 file with other people and not share the project.
