stupid question: is the song "Sunflower" allowed?
I know this is stupid.
The song “Sunflower” by Post Malone and Swae Lee is a song featured in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and it is very popular.
It is clean but there are some lyrics that are… questionable. I've marked them in bold. (there's only 2 lol)
uh if you see any more tell me

Ay, ay, ay, ay (ooh)

Ay, ay
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Needless to say, I keep her in check
She was a bad-bad, nevertheless (yeah)
Callin' it quits now, baby, I'm a wreck (wreck)
Crash at my place, baby, you're a wreck (wreck)
Needless to say, I'm keeping her in check
She was all bad-bad, nevertheless
Callin' it quits now, baby, I'm a wreck
Crash at my place, baby, you're a wreck
Thinkin' in a bad way, losin' your grip
Screamin' at my face, baby, don't trip
Someone took a big L, don't know how that felt
Lookin' at you sideways, party on tilt
Ooh-ooh-ooh
Some things you just can't refuse
She wanna ride me like a cruise
And I'm not tryna lose
Then you're left in the dust
Unless I stuck by ya
You're the sunflower
I think your love would be too much
Or you'll be left in the dust
Unless I stuck by ya
You're the sunflower
You're the sunflower
Every time I'm leavin' on you (ooh)
You don't make it easy, no (no, no)
Wish I could be there for you
Give me a reason to, oh (oh)
Every time I'm walkin' out
I can hear you tellin' me to turn around
Fightin' for my trust and you won't back down
Even if we gotta risk it all right now, oh (now)
I know you're scared of the unknown ('known)
You don't wanna be alone (alone)
I know I always come and go (and go)
But it's out of my control
And you'll be left in the dust
Unless I stuck by ya
You're the sunflower
I think your love would be too much
Or you'll be left in the dust
Unless I stuck by ya
You're the sunflower
You're the sunflower (yeah)

It's fine, I've seen projects that use it. (doesn't mean they are allowed because other people use it, but ST didn't take them down). I looked at the lyrics, and they are pretty vague, so I agree with the others that it is okay to use on scratch.

Seems fine. If you want to be 100% sure, censor the “ride me like a cruise” thing. Maybe I'm too innocent, but I don't understand how the one before that is bad…

(#6)They're both quite inappropriate references, but I think it would go over almost everyones head, and they really aren't that specific by themselves (they have to be in specific circumstances).

The only reason I even knew about the meaning of the “ride me like a cruise” line was because I've heard the phrase “ride me” being used in a certain “context” before, and to this day I still don't know what the “lookin' at you sideways” line means.
If I (and keep in mind that I've been exposed to red robot platform since I was 11) don't understand what a suggestive line means then it's probably fine

(#8)Right - so I would assume it's fine then, if it takes most forumers forever to figure it out.

In this context, I'm not “most forumers” as (thanks partially to red robot, and partially to the fact I've been watching The Simpsons and Futurama since 13) I'm really savvy and can understand most innuendos decently.(#8)Right - so I would assume it's fine then, if it takes most forumers forever to figure it out.

Person who liked this song during 5th grade here. The movie version changes the line to “ride like a cruise” so I'd recommend using that version. As well that song was what every kid was singing when it first came out it's not that inappropriate.

Lookin' at you sideways, party on tiltWelp I guess I'm banned now guys

Yeah, it's way too vague to be considered inappropriate, especially the line above. I would take bobcat0701's advice if you would like some extra safety. Of course, take whatever I'm saying with a grain of salt because I'm not the Scratch Team.
