My backpack won't let me put things in it - but it opens up and allows exports like normal.

My browser / operating system: Windows NT 10.0, Chrome 130.0.0.0, No Flash versions detected

So, for a run-down, when I open my backpack on Scratch, it operates as normal, right? Except for two issues. These two being:

-Can't put ANYTHING in the backpack, meaning I have no choice but to export EVERY single costume in an animation.
-Can't delete anything put in the backpack.

Is anyone else facing this problem, and does anyone know how to fix this?

Hello SonicPlayz155! The same is happening to me, and it seems that it is happening to almost everyone in Scratch, if you really need to take something from another project into the project you want, try exporting the stuff you need and importing it into the project you want it to be.

Thanks man, you're a real one. Oh, and by the way, is it just me or are your newest shared projects appearing every other place but on the profile page? It's happening to me.

This has to do with something called browser caching.

Web browsers cache (save) webpages and/or linked files (like images, or the .css file(s) used to style the webpage) so that they can load faster if you visit them more frequently- it doesn't have to request a resource from a server just to load a page it just visited, because the content of it likely hasn't changed.

The issue is, sometimes, the content of it has changed, and your browser, not wanting to take up unnecessary time going to a server with a request for a resource, doesn't actually know that it's changed. This problem usually fixes itself in at most a few days, and all major browsers have a way to delete at least parts of the browser cache if you want to (usually in the browser's settings page).

Right click on sprite/cosume/sound, you'll see a bit called export. Click that and choose ‘upload sprite/costume/sound’ and you'll go to your files and you'll see the exported thing appear on your project

Pretty well known and extremely common bug right now, all we can do is wait for it to be fixed. In the meantime try following this advice:

Right-click/long tap (depending on the platform you're on) on the thing you want to put in your backpack, click “export” (which will save it to your device's files), go into the project you want to have it in, import it (usually the upload button in the "new [insert name of thing]“ menu, and usually on the top. For example, to import a sprite, click/tap the ”new sprite" button, and then click the upload button).

Note: this doesn't work with scripts, but it does for sprites, sounds, costumes, and backdrops.

It won't fix your backpack, but it does provide a temporary alternative
