Upload m4a music

I've been getting a lot of music from iTunes recently, and I've noticed that they always format the music as MPEG-4 Audio files, a file type that you can't upload properly in scratch. Whenever you try to upload a file like that, it uploads as a sound that…has no sound… ._.

So I would like to see in a future update (if possible) that you could add the ability to upload that kind of music type. Thanks!

Maybe scratch should have .OGG and .WMA support instead. They're more common. And besides, scratch would have to convert the sound to .WAV first so that its more editable.

We need .ogg And .wma! Also, try converting your music to .wav using a converter.

.mid is midi but if I said “support midi” inevitably somebody would have said “but Scratch DOES support midi!” in reference to the midi blocsk!

They aren't even midi anymore. Scratch had to switch to its own instrument bank in 2.0.

And Scratch can't support uploading songs from iTunes because that's illegal. Music from iTunes is protected with DRM.

iTunes actually gave up on DRM for music. However, m4a support would be very nice.

MIDI support would be even better.

But what set of instruments will it use? In other words, will it use soundfonts? Or a the standard Microsoft GM? And I doubt it will satisfy everyone, what if someone makes a song on the Arachno soundfont? And scratch uses something else?

Can audicity convert .ogg and .wma sounds? Also, people might not want to download software just for one thing or they can't.

Actually, Audacity can use .wma. You just need to download the libraries for it(?)

Support, this is the main audio file for apple products so it'd probably benefit many who use apple computers.
