why do people get banned from scratch when they have personal info in their username (however do not get ip banned if they create a new account as you can't change you username on scratch unless you make a new account)

i think scratch team lets you change your username in the case of a “bad username ban”

They get banned because personal info is… personal, and they only get banned if their account gets reported more than 2 times

i don’t think they do but they’ll offer you an username change

It isn’t just if their report is reported more than twice. It’s if their username contains personal info, or otherwise breaks the CG

there is such a thing as a username ban - sometimes they ban your account but invite you to use other accounts, and sometimes they ban your account until you change the username (this is only for well established accounts).


note that if it seems your inappropriate username was in bad faith they will just delete your account


also, they can hide your account while this process is going on - it will appear deleted but it’s not
