Shortcut Keys for Quickly Performing Options in Scratch
How about using Alt instead because Alt isn't commonly used in computer hotkeys or shortcuts. No support because Ctrl is used for other things that are part of the computer and you might have someone ending up accidentally shutting down their computer or other stuff.Maybe a different key instead of control. Also, I don’t think their are any control combinations that would cause something bad (besides control P, which is actually print, not paste.)

I'd rather stick with what we've already got for shortcut keys rather than adding even more shortcut keys.

Sorry for off-topic, but why do people keep posting on topics that are, like, 7 years old or something?

My suggestions:
Alt-1: code
Alt-2: costumes
Alt-3: sounds
F5 / enter when not typing text: run
Ctrl-M: stop
In sound/costume editor when not entering text:
[: previous costume/sound
]: next costume/sound
In code tab, when not entering text:
1: motion
2: looks

up arrow: stage
In paint editor when not entering text:
Esc: cursor
R: reshape
B: brush
E: eraser
F: fill
T: text
L: line
C: ellipse
S: rectangle

We should use Alt with alphanumeric keys as they aren't used by the system.

Yeah, Ctrl + S would be great for auto-saving, and also Ctrl+D to duplicate, Ctrl+E or Ctrl+I for Exporting/Importing, and Ctrl+Alt+D to download

Yes, though how many people are printing the Scratch editor?ctrl-p open paint editorWould it override print?
Although cmd-r should be changed - that already reloads the page, and cmd-s already has a function in Scratch: it saves the project.

hey how do you copy and paste a sprite? im making a camera app in Scratch but it'll only be able to sense motion, but it looks cool but it also looks pixelated. and it'll take forever if I just click on the sprite and press duplicate because I have to scroll to duplicate.
