by the logic of this suggestion we should ban cubeupload because it links to a private messaging service…
someone won't just randomly click a tiny invite link on the footer, unlike those other websites that have a giant widget slapped on your face

By this logic, we should also ban YouTube

It could've been that the thing you linked didn't meet guideline standards.

No support, Twitter works best as the outlet for updates if the website is down, and most non kid friendly content is usually hidden for users that aren't logged in anyway.

Didn't (redacted) add several downgrade features to the platform, plus prohibit blocking people? Yeah, because he was getting blocked by millions of others.

If I were to own the platform ever, I wouldn't be making the choices that negatively affect everyone on there. Therefore, supporting it should not be the route that the ST will go on to reshape their engineering pages. It'll have very negative condemtations to server status, and the link shows random posts from their account anyway.

so I know the forums were down a long time ago, but i was wondering, why did the “oh noes!” page have a link that said “tweets by @scratch” and led straight to X? isn't that not allowed?
This was something way back when it was the norm for any website to use that newsfeed system for server outages. There's plans to change that out in the development pipeline, though, in light of changes in how that newsfeed works now (inaccessibility issues).
