WELCOME
to the classic Rock forum. HERE we will discuss heavy metal, hard rock, and many more subgenres of rock music. (note: all music talked about here is 2000 and under)

RULES

1.Respect Everyone's Music taste.
with rock music being such a popular genre, there are bound to be some awful music here and there. HOWEVER, that does NOT mean someone is wrong in every way shape or form. if YOU don't like a certain genre or song, GOOD FOR YOU. But don't harass ppl or anything like that

2.do NOT sidetrack to another genre.

Keep the forum 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and 00's rock music. NOTHING ELSE. don't go start talking about how good 1989 by Taylor Swift is. (I swear bro if that actually happens-)

3.Have Fun.
bro, the forum is literally just music. knock urselves out w/ this. just, don't do anything bad. plz.

The White Album by The Beatles is a masterpiece imo. Haven’t listened to all of it yet, but, from what I have listened to, it’s full of amazing songs like Helter Skelter and, my personal favorite, While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

Yea, a versatile album is what can help make an album a masterpiece. Sure, it can have a sound that carries over from song to song, but each song needs to feel different and unique, and The White Album succeeds at that.

When I think of classic rock, I think of stuff from the 50s, 60s, and 70s (Chuck Berry (AKA the father of rock and roll), The Beatles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, etc.). You should probably add 50s into the list of decades since that’s when Chuck Berry started making music, and he is the father of rock and roll.

not the entirety of jazz was rock, but it was a huge influence on the genre

im a HUGEEEEEE beatles fan and as much as i love them, no, i dont! although it would be very cool, i believe it wasnt iconic enough outside of the beatles fandom… besides many people are mad that they used ai EVEN THO THEY JUST USED IT TO take away the piano from lennons tape LOL but i think either brat by charli xcx, midwest princess by chappel roan, or not like us by kendrick lamar should win since they were def the most played this year but who knows!

Two words: Chuck Berry

Despite 50s rock and roll being one of the foundations of my favorite genre (punk rock) alongside 60s garage rock and glam rock (proto-punk wasn't really much of a genre, just a retrospective term), I have only been able to get into Chuck Berry.
