Can you give us steps to repeat it here? Also, what version of the player are you using? (Hit F12, open console, and refresh page, or first open console and then browse to editor).

And what version of Flash?

I spoke to Johnm about it and he said he's asking for Verdana to render the text in the blocks. He thought that if Flash didn't find it on the system, it would automagically default to some other font that it does have. So the fix should be to just do all that ourselves (pretty simple I think?). But we need to know all the info first - flash version, browser version, OS, steps to reproduce if necessary.

Isn't there some fallback font that can be used on all systems regardless of programs installed?
Or is there a way of embedding a font into the Flash file?

I showed John the problem that happens on Windows machines that have Mac fonts, and he's going to look at setting the font dependent on OS (not just on what's available).

I didn't actually get the bug in alpha, only in 1.4 a couple of (a lot of) times.

IE needs a different format for embedded fonts, different from the ttf format used with other browsers, could that be it?

Once upon a time I opened my chat room project. It didn't do a thing. So I clicked the see inside button. I couldn't beleive my eyes. The words… DIED. The end.

That button really helped. Made the text come right back :3

Anyway, I had NO idea how to get the information from the console. But I opened the flash version.

I have windows xp 32 Bits. 10 Freaking years old.

Flashing lights version 11.4.31.110. They flash. All the time.

I browses with google chrome.

And that means I'm captain obvious, kiinda.

The problem is that the bug is on ALL of my projects, and when I create a new one - it's there too!

Bummer! I'm running pretty much the same combination with no trouble. Have you tried clearing your cache and restarting your browser? Also, if you have other browsers on your computer, it would be useful to know if the problem is showing up in them.
