But anyways to clear some confusion, this will be on the normal view as well as the fullscreen, as having really thick white borders is annoying and straining to the eyes.

Also, if you're going to unsupport, please give a valid reason why this addition would be bad, as being “unnecessary” or being scared of viruses (heh) is not a valid reason.

I feel silly asking this, but just to clear it up, is this an optional thing? As in there would like be a “dim it” button like what GameJolt has?

YES! A lot of people are not supporting based on the fact that it would interfere with people who don't like it, but I will repeat, THIS IS ENTIRELY OPTIONAL.
