I like that idea! That'll also kind of check campers so that all of their dragons develop closer to the same rate instead of one camper unlocking everything in a week and a half lol.

I agree with y'all that limited is more realistic, but like Willow said it's ultimately about the campers having a good experience, and limited would also mean that any backup campers would have less options to choose from. If there was one color of dragon that was wildly popular for some reason, we could gently suggest that campers pick another color, but leave it up to them in the end.
I think having a separate Training Yard project is a good idea; that way we can group all the unlocking in one place instead of three. I feel like it'll be easier to keep track that way.

So if I understand correctly we would have currency, health, and bond, and you would have to collect currency to unlock abilities but spend currency to gain health and bond with your dragon. (correct me if I'm wrong lol I want to make sure I know how it works)
This looks fine to me, we'll just want to keep the math in mind. Here's an example that assumes a camper earns 5 currency every time they complete a daily and 10 every time they complete a weekly, and that each camper is moving directly from one level to the next without spending anything extra (these numbers are just for the example ofc):
10 currency ➵ Flight (10 health needed) ➵ Total camper would have to earn: 15 currency (1 weekly and 1 daily OR 3 dailies)
20 currency ➵ Banner ➵ TCWHTE: 10 currency (1 weekly OR 2 dailies)
30 currency ➵ Fire-breathing (20 health needed) ➵ TCWHTE: 15 currency (1 weekly and a daily OR 3 dailies)
40 currency ➵ Matching pfp ➵ TCWHTE: 10 currency (1 weekly OR 2 dailies)
50 currency ➵ Dragonriding (30 bond needed) ➵ TCWHTE: 30 currency (3 weeklies OR 6 dailies)
Total amount of currency camper would have to earn: 65
This isn't a perfect model due to the lack of variables (I only included two combinations as options, when in reality it'll probably be a much more varied), but based on this campers will either need to do 4 weeklies and 5 dailies OR 13 dailies to unlock everything.
That seems fair enough to me, but what do you guys think? (also, i think my math is off somewhere but i can't find where–if you notice an error anywhere lmk so i can fix it haha)
Also, what should we call our currency? We bounced a few ideas around earlier but didn't come to a conclusion before having to break off and focus on the cabin setup stuff. Since we used the scales for our symbol, we'll probably want to pick something else to represent our currency.

and since i can be pretty bad at explaining things sometimes lol here's an example of what I was thinking:

this is a VERY tentative idea but what if we had silly easter eggs campers could find through like puzzles or something? the first x number of campers to solve the puzzle each week would get something random and probably silly for their dragon (like glittery teeth or, yes, fuzzy bunny slippers) and each camper could only receive an easter egg once. the easter eggs wouldn't really add anything to the dragon's capabilities they would just be fun “side quests” of a sort.
like i said this idea is very tentative and we definitely don't have to include it but it popped into my head so i thought i'd share it lol

Leader: as you play with your dragon, you notice something new–your dragon has started sprouting fuzzy bunny slippers on their feet! congratulations on unlocking the fuzzy bunny slipper feet.obviously the dragons won't be sprouting fuzzy bunny slippers (unless…unless…hang on im getting an idea ill explain it in a bit cant get sidetracked now), but that's kind of what i was imagining for unlocking stuff.

Firstly, this is beautiful and perfect in every way.
I actually really like the sound of this xDD the only issue is we'd have to make puzzles - which is fine, I'm just wondering whether we'll have enough time and mental energy to create those. We should definitely bookmark this idea - I just think it might be better to flesh out the ideas and basic, main things we need to do, then see how much we can devote to these side quests xD

Hmm - I was picturing that there would be a matching pfp system - maybe people are riding a dragon in the pfp? Again, I have no idea how complicated that would be (I'd imagine you'd only need to recolour the dragon per pfp and change up the skin tone, clothes colour and hairstyle/colour for the person).
Actually, this brings me to a new idea. What if we had a “dragon creator” thing?
People would switch around parts of a dragon – colour of dragons, types of wings, kind of horns, eye colour, saddle colour etc. – and choose the one they liked. A variable could be tracking each different part of the dragon. Again, I have no idea how hard this would be, Chuey - but I'd imagine that the base of the dragon would be the same, and all you'd have to worry about is redrawing the horns (?) and wings (?) and recolouring each little part. I'd be happy to code the “dragon creator”!
People would then be able to check the variable number by pressing a certain key, and they could fill out a form. For example:
Using this form, I could input the different variables to find the exact kind of dragon this person had created. I could then combine this into screenshots, and maybe share it in a project called: “The Dragon Stables” or “The Dragon Cove”, where people would be able to see all the different dragons?

I think we talked about something like “soulfire” or something that the “evil dragons” (we really need a name for them pfft) had taken away from the good dragons, making them injured. We could call the currency “soulfire”, since camper swill use it to restore a dragon's health, but do y'all have any ideas?
Here are potential symbols we could use: ☄ ◈ ∾ ღ ≬ (apparently the last one is a maths symbol LOL)
That model is really smart Chuey :00 We should probs decide the value of doing certain tasks. Here's what I'm thinking:
Guilds
Circling back to the guild names, I kind of like the idea of different parts.
“Guild of Heart” - a guild of trusting your instincts, working as a group to fight.
“Guild of Mind” - a guild valuing logic and your own wit to best your opponent in a battle.
“Guild of Claw” - a guild that believes in developing their individual strengths and force.
We could po-tentially…? name it something like that…? i'm a bit iffy about the names themselves, but what do you guys think about the little blurb and belief beside the guilds?

or which ones i should do, i'm flexible either way. are we aiming to do what amethyst suggested? if so i'm happy with that! - also with that idea are we thinking of going for a voice-over or some music? because i'm happy to find or create one of those

i do have to admit i do find the currency and health/bond system a little confusing, is there any easier way we could approach this as i'm cautious that the campers might also be confused, or may not have enough to to buy health and bond - although i've been looking through signups and fantasy has been listed a lot - so that might mean more camper activity.
EDIT: just re-read everything, and i'm not as confused anymore which is good, and i'm fine with the system we just need to make it clear what to do. just to make sure i'm fully understand this correctly its that: campers don't need to spend currency for anything but health and bond which they buy - just also saw this is what chuey said, so amethyst please correct me if we're wrong
the model also looks great! should we maybe make the value for weeklies higher so campers will feel more encouraged to do them? same with the writing comp? - also soulfire is a really cool name and i'm absolutely obsessed with it, so i'm good with having it as a name if everyone else likes it.

instead of the profile pic your first suggest with the person and dragon - which would probably be super time consuming, as even normal pfps take me a considerable amount of time to complete, - i think your idea of a dragon creator would be so cool! like it could be used as ones profile pic as well;
i'm also able to code it if needed, and can make it so the campers can create it, instead of one of us needing to do so, which is more work for us, and we could be spending time on the storyline instead of that, it could be done by variable like you suggested, but would involve the campers doing it - i could also make it so they can have save code, so that by the end of each week, we could go see the new dragons and then put them in a project like you suggested
or if we wanted to do it where we made it for them - in turn we could mix chuey's idea with one of us telling them what the dragon would look like after a upgrade with this, and we could edit or add the - for example - fluffy bunny slippers on the dragon and send them a link! which could be cool! - please let me know if that doesn't make sense…

ooh these are some really good ideas! I love the suggestion of having a dragon creator–that would definitely be easier than drawing every single one by hand. For upgrades, what if instead of only giving campers a description, we gave them a project code that they could copy+paste to unlock new features (if that makes sense)? That way all they'd have to do was click a button or something and enter the code.
I'm down for coding as well! Should we split up who codes what?
As a side note, I think a fullbody base would be good for the creator part, and when the camper was done it would switch over to a pfp-sized headshot base filled in with the correct colors and whatnot. We can use the variables to “translate” the features of the dragon onto the headshot, if that makes sense (lmk if it makes sense/you have any questions haha).

I'm not sure about the tests, as like Willow said, we want the guilds to have an even distribution–maybe we could sort by word goal? For example, if we had 9 people (ik the actual count will almost certainly be higher lol this is just to make it easy math) and there were 3 people with a high goal, 3 people with a medium goal, and 3 people with a low goal, we could put 1 person from each category in each WCG. Assuming that everyone hit their word goal, this would kinda even out the word-adding workload. Idk whatever system works best for y'all is fine with me tbh XD

(and ofc if you have different preferences just let me know! I'm super flexible <3 you could also do the background of one of the dragon ones and then I could fill in the dragons, if you'd rather do it that way)

Sleep deprived Amethyst last night had a pen and a notepad, and so thought of a bunch of names for our guild
The Seeker's Guild
The Keeper's Guild
The Fire Guild (arson guild :eyes
The Aviation Guild
I'd be happy to sort the WCGs equally! I also think that if we have a particular person in our cabin that we want in our WCG - whether it be because of friendship or other things - you should let me know, so I can sort accordingly <3 we won't have to worry about this until we get our camper lists much later this month, though!
I love those names, Chuey! I'm just wondering whether we should have our guilds keep a structure like the above ones, since I think it's a little smoother? Then again- what sounds better and smoother for you guys?

Yay soulfire
I thought that spending the soulfire to get health and bond might be a better idea - but then again, it might be less confusing to just have it all be unlocked in order…? Since we've decided the currency is soulfire, it probably makes more sense in terms of the storyline to not be able to buy anything, and instead unlock things as you go along. As we decided before, soulfire represents the dragon's power, strength and all of that, which would probably apply to their strength. Helping out the dragon would probably help the camper's bond with it, kind of defeating the purpose of getting stuff to bond with the dragon - logically. It also would be less confusing for calculating what a camper should have unlocked if they go back in soulfire amount.
At the same time, we do want fantasy to be as fun as possible. So would you guys prefer to be able buy medicine and food and all of that, or would you prefer to unlock it as you go along?
Here's an example of the system if we unlocked things as we went along.
05 soulfire ➵ +10 health to dragon (we could make it more storyline-and-fancy sounding)
10 soulfire ➵ Flight
20 soulfire ➵ Banner
25 soulfire ➵ +10 health to dragon

**** yay i hope you saw the asteriks. anyways, in the original version, dragonriding needed 30 bond, because it's a pretty influential ability that basically changes the whole game for the campers - since they can now fly away from the island - and therefore i figured it should cost a lot. however, i think it would be pretty weird to suddenly jump in soulfire amount? also the whole random bond thing suddenly being the only next 3 nodes for a while feels weird. we could always do something like this:
30 soulfire ➵ Fire-breathing
40 soulfire ➵ Matching pfp
80 soulfire ➵ Dragonriding
we could also always put things in between, add more abilities and things to unlock etc. again i went on a bit of a rant sob sorry- if you need me to summarise this or say it in another way, lmk!

when you say save code, that's what i meant aha- so the campers would be able to see the thing they liked, save it in a code, and post it in the comments so we know what kind of dragon they liked? i think we should also ask for permission from the campers whether we can put their name and dragon in the project, just in case they don't feel comfortable doing it <33
i also like the sound of the project code! we could ask them to share an updated version of their dragon's looks if they like it, and if they don't, they just don't have to do anything ;D

I think to represent injured dragons in a PG way, we could have normal, healthy dragons have glowing small hovering fire around them? Then the injured dragons would have lost all that fire, they could have minor injuries like small cuts or injured wings etc..

Yay soulfire

I thought that spending the soulfire to get health and bond might be a better idea - but then again, it might be less confusing to just have it all be unlocked in order…? Since we've decided the currency is soulfire, it probably makes more sense in terms of the storyline to not be able to buy anything, and instead unlock things as you go along. As we decided before, soulfire represents the dragon's power, strength and all of that, which would probably apply to their strength. Helping out the dragon would probably help the camper's bond with it, kind of defeating the purpose of getting stuff to bond with the dragon - logically. It also would be less confusing for calculating what a camper should have unlocked if they go back in soulfire amount.
At the same time, we do want fantasy to be as fun as possible. So would you guys prefer to be able buy medicine and food and all of that, or would you prefer to unlock it as you go along?
Here's an example of the system if we unlocked things as we went along.
05 soulfire ➵ +10 health to dragon (we could make it more storyline-and-fancy sounding)
10 soulfire ➵ Flight
20 soulfire ➵ Banner

**** yay i hope you saw the asteriks. anyways, in the original version, dragonriding needed 30 bond, because it's a pretty influential ability that basically changes the whole game for the campers - since they can now fly away from the island - and therefore i figured it should cost a lot. however, i think it would be pretty weird to suddenly jump in soulfire amount? also the whole random bond thing suddenly being the only next 3 nodes for a while feels weird. we could always do something like this:

we could also always put things in between, add more abilities and things to unlock etc. again i went on a bit of a rant sob sorry- if you need me to summarise this or say it in another way, lmk!

when you say save code, that's what i meant aha- so the campers would be able to see the thing they liked, save it in a code, and post it in the comments so we know what kind of dragon they liked? i think we should also ask for permission from the campers whether we can put their name and dragon in the project, just in case they don't feel comfortable doing it <33
i also like the sound of the project code! we could ask them to share an updated version of their dragon's looks if they like it, and if they don't, they just don't have to do anything ;D

Firstly, for the WCGs thumbnails, I'm picturing that we have something a little more like what Dystopian has - check out their Beast Division WCG studio - for our Guilds, rather than something similar to our fantasy cabin thumbnail? just because “guild” gives more vibes of an emblem and symbols, rather than a landscape. what do you guys think?

i'm happy with the save code ideas! i do think we should split up who code it, is there any way we could like take turns downloading code to do this? like on alt accounts share a project and we could like update it with code by downloading someone elses and sharing it again? i think that would be the best way to do it, it involves no sharing of accounts and could be easier i guess?

. discoverer
. creeper (not my fave but it fits the word structure of the other two lol)
. finder
my personal favorite so far is keeper (the guild of the strong), seeker (the guild of the quick), and discoverer (the guild of the impulsive/instinctive)
we could also rearrange some of my previous suggestions to fit the smoother format, or go with an entirely different combination–whatever works for y'all! <3
for the wcg thumbs, I think having symbols sounds great! Once we settle on names we can decide what kind of symbol we want for each thumb.

honestly, I think it's less confusing to only unlock things–it's kind of hard to mix and match styles of currency because it's harder to keep track of. however, it would be fun to unlock accessories, so maybe we can find out a different way for campers to do that–perhaps if they do a certain numbers of dailies or weeklies they can unlock “extras” without having to spend currency.
I agree with Willow about bumping up the unlocking levels, since we bumped up the soulfire. What if we had something along these lines?

I actually really like the idea of having separate pfp creators and dragon creators; as well as that of having a project to store people's dragons. If we had a separate dragon creator that would also fix the complication of displaying all the features AND being pfp friendly.
Which brings us to the question: what specific features do we want for the dragons? Green, blue, pink, and orange all fit with Fantasy's palette, and (I can't remember if we discussed this previously–we might have, but my brain is silly and good at forgetting things pfft) I think three is probably a good number of different varieties–if that's okay with y'all, which three colors would be good?
Wings will probably be present from the start but only become usable once flight is unlocked, and I was thinking horns (if we had them) would probably be there in the basic form too, although maybe they'd be smaller and stubbier. Once dragons start gaining soulfire back and fire-breathing is unlocked, maybe their horns could grow out and get all fancy, and once dragonriding is unlocked perhaps they could gain some kind of special ability based on either the type of dragon or the guild the camper is in. These are all just suggestions ofc, and I'd love some feedback on them <33
As for the code, we could all download our code into alt account/old projects and then whoever was sharing the project the code was for could go backpack the sprite(s) and then un-backpack them into the project. To keep each other notified of when new code was added, the person collecting the code could comment on the project with something random and then the person coding could reply to it to ping them whenever there was code to pick up, if that makes sense.

week 1if we did it that way campers would either have to do 20 dailies or 4 weeklies and 8 dailies to unlock everything, and if we divide it up to where you can only unlock things once it's their week (or after) then they wouldn't be able to achieve everything in only 2 weeks lol. Using this schedule, there's only one thing you can unlock during week 4 (unless we decide to add something else) but since it's such a major event and there's going to be other plot things going on I doubt anyone will be having to sit around twiddling their thumbs XD

Promotional project (as soon as Willow confirms which partsDragon art for the creator is at the bottom of the priority list because we won't actually need it until the session starts, however, since I'll be the only one doing dragon art I'll most likely work on it in between other, higher-priority projects. the bolded things are things that won't need dragons- however i think it would be really cool if 1 and 2 looked the exact same, except there would be ruin fire and no dragons in 2. willow, would it be ok if you did the background for 1 and 2, maybe? and chuey could edit up 1 to include the dragons, and willow edit 2 with all the ruin?
however, i'm wondering whether it would look strange if two different art styles were combined into one artpiece? again- its up to you guys to decide the artsy thingies ;D

i'm so sorry for my inactivity- i've been away on an actual writing workshop XD and a sleepover with my friend <3

that's all good willow! maybe you could make the background to the dragon creator? we could have multiple backgrounds if you want more work aha– like a background of being by the ocean, inside a cave, the cove-cliff etc, maybe even the sky - up to you though ^^
OH i also had an idea in the middle of the night that i had to write down - what if we did a fantasy map of the island? this wouldn't do much except immerse the campers in the experience a little more, and it's also really really cool xDD
in said wirting workshop we actually went over how to make a fantasy map! if its okay with yall, id love to do a draft-map, and maybe you guys could redo it to polish it, transfer it to digital, colour it in etc.? this is just an idea for fun so is by no mean necessary <3

i have a lot of ideas when i'm meant to be sleeping. so i also wrote out the entire storyboard for the trailer in the dark! i have a little draft script on it, but its on a notepad that probably has very messy handwriting, and since im not home rn i can't send it yet- i can in a few hours though!
