that is false, scratch 4.0 won't be coming out any time soon also no one knows

Scratch 4.0 isn't even in planning yet; it's not coming anytime soon.

The only reason why 2.0 was released was to have an online editor and 3.0 was released was to make it so scratch didn’t need adobe flash and so mobile users could use scratch (And also adobe flash player died a little bit over a year later). Scratch only updated the website greatly just to add important and crucial features that would benefit the website greatly. Not to just show some funny UI upgrades. (References - Top of the page, 2.0 info. Top of the page, 3.0 info.

Scratch 4.0 is not coming anytime soon - the exact spacing between the release dates of each Scratch version is completely coincidental.

The Scratch Team is still working on updates for Scratch 3.0, so stay tuned.

But if it was coming we would have betas by now and we would know something. We knew Scratch 3.0 was coming 3 years before it came out.

The 6-year gap between major versions is not a pattern. It means nothing. See https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/754767/ where @Paddle2See, a ST member, actually says that it's not coming anytime soon.
