Ahhh a Windows Insider? Me too! I'm on the beta channel but haven't gotten a BSOD or GSOD yet. I might have to do a quick CTRL+Scroll Lock next time I'm on my PC to see what happens.
Nice! I'm technically on the Dev channel, but I switched to Release Preview a few days ago because of problems, soon I'll join Beta! (If you want to CTRL+Scr Lock ur PC, just enable it with WinAero Tweaker if it isn't. It works using a registry hack!)
I was about to mention that I've perfected my install with winaero. One time I even used that tool to make a steam box for playing games on. One tweak I think they're missing is one to turn of “Sign into Microsoft” hints and prompts. There's a few things like that where I use the group policy editor for tweaks. My favourite one disables signing into a Microsoft account so it's literally blocked OS-Wide.

Cool, Im On 23H2
Hmm I can't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure I'm on 24H2? Whichever one got the native extended archive support. (.7z, .rar, etc) and sudo for command line. (Now that I think about it, I'm not sure which channel I'm on…)

Not sure where to post this since I can't find a general Windows topic (the one I know has been closed IIRC), so I'm asking it here.

I want to create native Windows apps, but I only have VSCode and I don't feel like installing the entire Visual Studio suite. What should I do?

I think you can install Visual Studio Build Tools, which includes the compiler and libraries but not the IDE.

I am still on windows 10. I am considering paying for extended support for 1 year. After that I might go with Linux instead of windows 11.

Consider migrating now and then you don't have to pay.

I mean, I'd pay a good sum for a 64-bit version of Windows 2000.

I would too, but MS doesn't support it anymore. We'll probably never see it

Windhawk has revived my interest in Windows 11 for the first time in years. I tried to use it again and found that Notepad's find-and-replace tool is built different:

On another note, I don't get the recent fuss about official Windows 11 support. I and numerous other people have seen that 15-year-old PCs run the OS just fine. The only people who would care about it represent companies that have already upgraded their hardware anyway.

Same on my old PC! Constantly receiving error codes from SurfaceDTX.exe. Now, on a Go 3, it didn‘t happen (yet)…

When I migrated, I got Windows 11 Pro for free! I don‘t miss Windows 10. 11 is more powerful.

Yes, the feature set is quite impressive! SUDO for command line, native RGB support, more native archive support (.rar .7z), 1:1 gestures on laptops, not to mention more free security updates and other optimizations + better UI for touch screen devices. If you purchased a windows 10 Pro license, it will carry over to Windows 11 at no additional cost. Technically, people on Windows 10 Pro already bought the security updates. You just have to be on Windows 11 to get them. Heck, you don't even need to pay for pro to get the (free!) security updates! Even the 10 Home license often bundled with PCs will carry over with the OS upgrade. I upgraded back in the days before the RUFUS workaround was a thing and had to manually swap files to get around those pesky TPM requirements.

It was laggy for the next few hours, but now it runs fine. I switched to the Release Preview Channel from the Dev, and Microsoft should be ashamed. As of now, I'm running 26120.1542.
They should definitely be ashamed. i might wanna try this on a vm and get more proof…

Also does anyone here hate how “Properties” is no longer at the bottom of the file explorer context menu?

Anybody knows here how to convert a USB stick from FAT32 to NTFS without formatting? Tried every search engine in the world and still didn't find an answer

No, but I'll say if you dig down online you will find a tutorial
