Isn't there a rule for e dating on scratch or no? (IF YOU READ THIS PLEASE READ IT ALL!) (No offense to anyone)
So I've been asked a few times on scratch if I would be someone's gf/bf, and I said no (For multiple reasons) Then they jump to the next person, but isn't there/shouldn't there be a rule about E-dating on scratch. The reason why I say this is bc
1. I don't really think Scratch is a place for E-dating, no offense to people who E-date, but there is a lot of kids on Scratch and I've saw a ten year old talking to a 13 year old saying something about E-dating……
2. Scratch was made for coding and making friends online for any age…And It's already being exposed to stuff like Skibidi toilet (SORRY SKIBIDI TOILET FANS! NO OFFENSE) and now e-dating…
3. Ik in the Scratch guidelines it said “Scratch is a friendly and welcoming community for everyone, where people create, share, and learn together. We welcome people of all ages, races, ethnicities, religions, abilities, sexual orientations, and gender identities. Help keep Scratch a welcoming, supportive, and creative space for all by following these Community Guidelines:” Which I can understand if some people don't see anything wrong with e-dating, I don't judge anyone.
It also said “Be safe: keep personal and contact information private.
For safety reasons, don't give out any information that could be used for private communication, in person or online. This includes sharing real last names, phone numbers, addresses, hometowns, school names, email addresses, usernames or links to social media sites, video chatting applications, or websites with private chat functionality.” Some people who was E-dating on Scratch was sharing their video chatting applications, phone numbers, and emails. I even saw 1 person sharing their address when I joined a game someone was hosting. I don't know if E-dating counts, but tbh if their sharing all that it's breaking the guidelines, so do E-dating count too (Asking this question bc my sister asked me to ask this and I am kinda curious too)

I 100% Agree. e-dating is incredibly strange due to the fact you don't know who the other person is. they should definitely ban it or something because e-dating already gets you banned on several websites/platforms

Yeah, this sort of behavior isn’t allowed and can get you warned. This is a website for kids; not the most appropriate place to do this per se. Report romantic behavior between users when you see it.

Online dating is heavily inappropriate for Scratch, and I believe it is illegal as Scratch is not restricted for minors, and minors make up the majority of Scratch.
Please report any cases of this.

This is definitively not ok, dating is not appropriate for everyone, so it is not appropriate for scratch.

As others have stated, this is not [insert unnamable dating service here], and this is already reportable for a few reasons (summed up by “it's not appropriate for Scratch in any way, and can lead people to harm”).
Please, report it.

yeah. E-dating is extremely dangerous for minors if you don't know the person in real life. they might not be who they say they are and it's a lot easier to conceal their identity online. you don't want to end up accidentally E-dating a 48 year old, and this goes for all things online; not just scratch. as basically anybody else has said, report it! be careful <33

E-dating on Scratch is not allowed. The platform is meant for learning, creating, and making friends, not for romantic relationships. The Community Guidelines emphasize keeping personal and contact information private, which includes not sharing info that could be used for private communication.
If you see anyone e-dating or sharing personal info on Scratch, you can report it to the Scratch Team. They want to keep the community safe and respectful for all users, especially younger ones.

Report it immediately (if you can) and possibly contact the Scratch Team.
I'm guessing this should be resolved now.
