For some reason they are too lazy to update the computers from Windows 7 at the local library.
That reminds me; I just remembered our old school's computer lab was still using Vista on what were most likely early 2000s PCs (they definitely had a “Designed for XP” sticker on them) into 2018 and 2019 before the school declared bankruptcy. Not only that, but they also definitely hadn't updated Chrome on them in at least 7 years, since the logo was still the skeuomorphic, 3D one used from 2008-2011.
That's cool, it's also pretty late to be using Vista because it was discontinued in 2017. I also like your profile picture (Very good drawing of Scratch Cat)

Also for having a good profile picture I shall grant you with a secret Scratch page I found: https://scratch.mit.edu/help/studio/tips/home/

Thanks! I didn't actually draw it myself lol; I took it from Scratch's project page on the Playful Invention Company (PICo)'s website because I found the drawing of Scratch Cat pretty funny. (PICo worked on Scratch 2.0 and Jr, and up until a few months back their site had prototypes of both 2.0 and Jr (and even a 2008 Flash player) on hidden subdirectories.)

What was the oldest OS you ever used, using real hardware or a virtual machine? Was it one of these?
MS-DOS 1.0-8

Windows 1.01-3.1, 95, 98, 2000, ME, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 or 10

Mac OS X 10.0-12

For me it was Windows 7, and that was the only one I saw. However, at my local renting store some staff computers use Windows Vista, which is awfully weird
Windows 7 too. Best OS ever

While the oldest desktop Operating System I've used is Windows XP, I've used an old Atari… which might actually not have an OS- it's possible in that case…

The oldest physical computer, was a computer running windows vista. If we are talking about virtual machines, then the answer would be windows 1.0.

Oldest OS I've ever used on a physical device was… Windows 95, I think, although it was a very long time ago and I can't really remember the details. I can more clearly remember using XP.

As for VMs, I've tried the earliest Windows versions on one of those online PC emulators written in Javascript. It's kind of funny when you think about it, that we can now run entire operating systems faster than we could when they were the latest tech, in JS.
