Banning

So, I have a question here about banning. What if you get banned and later someone else from your household wants to make an account? For example, let's say my older brother got perma-banned on Scratch, like IP-banned. A few months later, I decide to make an account. Would it allow me to, or would the mistakes of my brother haunt me…forever?
(Dramatic ending, ikr lol)

Unfortunately, yes, it would affect you.
What you could do is use a VPN (granted that you weren’t banned otherwise that’d ban ban evading) or use Contact Us.

So, could I put in an appeal to ST saying that “that was my older sibling, so please let me make an account” or something? Technically, ST would never know if someone's lying though.

Unfortunately, I can’t tell you what would happen as I have never been in this situation.
If it ever happens, it’s worth a shot to ask in contact us though.

Also, IP bans usually only happen when someone ban evades or maybe a very severe one-time offense.
If your sibling ever uses scratch and gets blocked, just tell him to appeal/wait and not to ban evade.

The ST would most likely tell you to have a parent or guardian send the email instead. While this isn't foolproof, it would still decrease the chances of someone lying.

Yes, it will affect you.

You can use a VPN (there's free browser extension ones for Chrome and there are plenty of free ones to install) or you can go to a public place (e.g. library, café, etc.)
