wondering what the "Scratch" package is
i was messing around with linux when i typed sudo apt install scratch and it actually installed scratch. im just wondering, is it official or not?

It's an old version. There's no official version of Scratch 3.0 for Linux.

the scratch package you installed is the 1.4 editor. it is official.

The APT package is official, and is listed as an option on the Scratch 1.4 download page.
