Why can't you upload from the offline editor anymore?

Why can't you upload from the offline editor anymore? In Scratch 1.4 and (I think) Scratch 2.0, you could upload directly from the offline editor. What happened to make this not available in 3.0?

What happens when you try to do it?

EDIT: I'm tired of not reading the OP completely before answering.

There's no button in the 3.0 offline editor to do it. I'm asking why the feature was removed.

You can do it, go to the Scratch offline home page, click on the three dots of the project you want to share, press share, and click the share with the community button. Log in, and add instructions and credits and you should be able to share it. (Can confirm, just did it myself)

There's no homepage in the Scratch offline editor, what are you talking about?!

The page where you see all your projects when you first open the offline editor.

I don't see it. Are you sure you aren't using an older editor, like the 2.0 one? This question is about the 3.0 one.

I am using 3.0, I can try and screenshot it give me a second. This is what I see when I open the Scratch offline app on my tablet.

So you are referring to the tablet app? I think OP is asking about the (non-tablet) desktop editor.

I can confirm that it's the same on Chromebooks; then again, Chromebooks have the capability to pretend that they're android machines. It's literally the same app.

Edit: According to the wiki:

Scratch Wiki wrote:

Projects made in the Offline Editor can be uploaded to the Scratch Website and shared by opening a new project online, going to the file tab, and clicking “upload from your computer.” However, the Offline Editor cannot directly upload projects to the Scratch Website. Uploading projects might be supported in a future version

Edit 2: According to the download FAQ:

3.0 download page for MacOS wrote:

Can I share to the online community from the Scratch app for macOS?
Sharing directly to online community from the Scratch app for macOS is not currently supported. For now, you can export a project from the Scratch app, then log onto the Scratch website, and upload and share your project there.

3.0 download page for Windows wrote:

Save dev time for an easy workaround, you don't have to worry about CORS or SSH, among other things.

The feature was never considered by devs for 3.0
