Did Scratch Team make a false claim?
On the Scratch Foundation “Our Story” page, it says that Scratch is 100% free and open source. It's not - the scratchr2 backend definitely is not open source, and some of the inner workings of Scratch are not open source. So is this is a false claim? Or is there something I'm missing here?

I think they’re referring to the scratch editor, which for the most part is open source (minus platform specific code to package for app stores and whatnot). It’s misleading because it’s placed next to statistics about the community. I think the graphic is well intentioned, I doubt the author meant to say something not truthful, but yeah it’s something that should be corrected. that site is superseded by the new scratch.org, which doesn’t have that error.

Did Scratch Team make a false claim?
Yeah, at first I thought it was talking about the Scratch editor, but it is certainly misleading. But it looks like this has already been discussed before, so I'll request this to be closed.
