Don't give a warning when deleting accounts.

Don't give a warning when deleting accounts. The reason is because in real life, you don't get confirmation screens, and it could help kids learn actions are permanent in a safe area.

What if they want to back up projects? Also do you mean bans or manual deletion?

Backing up projects should happen before deleting the account. I am talking about manual deletion.

Deleting your account with no confirmation is NOT a nice way to teach kids to be careful. Accidents can happen, rethinking just before doing it with confirmation exists. Do I even have to be replying to the suggestion, since this MUST be a joke.

assuming this is not a joke, heck no!! that is not how you teach kids to be careful. what if their account was accessed by a third party? every website i've ever been on has at least one warning and extensive confirmation, including passkeys, emails, and a countdown, for these exact reasons.

That's not a good way to teach kids. No support.

???? no..???
people are just gonna be annoyed, this isn't gonna teach anything
Im sure that if your finger accidentally nicked the deletion button and your account got deleted you would be mad too. and then to top it off, when you contact st they dont revert it and instead say that you just learned a very valuable life lesson. How inspiring…

That's like removing the “CAUTION WET FLOOR” sign and when someone slips, the janitor says “You just learned a valuable lesson”.

This would also allow hackers to delete accounts way more easily. No thanks.

When your little brother deletes your Scratch account:

5 reasons why this should not be added

1. when your finger slips and you delete the account called “griffpatch”

2. troll tells the kid to press the “delete” button

3. when you make your new account people will believe you are the fake one + followers cut in half

4. Your dog walks on your keyboard or your brother grabs your mouse and presses the button

5. For all of the above it will completely obliterate the persons mental health

The thing is, no one has to press the delete button. Those things you say it is like, are force.
