How do I fix Scratch not saving?

So, basically, I made a Sonic game (not finished), and it won't save. When I refreshed it, it went back to an older save. Thankfully, however, I downloaded it before refreshing, so I still have the updated copy, but how do I make it save, because, if I want to share it, it'll need to be the version where it isn't just an intro and crappy menu.
Please help.

Yeah… I recently had a very similar issue, but It kinda fixed itself. What I did was reload the page, make sure the saving was working, and the load in my file, which I then could save. If that doesn't work, then just give it time (and make sure you're signed in).

Assuming everything is working normally not saving online is usually due to too many resources being used - generally sound or costumes taking up more space than the project can have.

For some reason, after the latest downtime from 7/7/2024, saving just stopped for some reason and it won't save after I do anything. Is there any way this can be fixed?

This bug has happened to me too a while ago, and I couldn't make project for a while until a method of fixing it was discovered. You have to sign out and back in again.

If you are already on a project that you can't leave because progress will be lost, it's a little different.

You have to:

Open a new tab in your browser.
Open the scratch website.
Sign out there.
Sign back in again.
Go back to your unsaved project tab and try saving.

This is the method that worked for me, I have no knowledge of a different saving bug where this didn't work, so if it doesn't I'm not sure what to do

It's happening to me, too! I'm working on a platformer that won't save! I searched it up on Google and it said the might project.json file is too big because of the .svg and .wav files, and they are pretty big, but it also said Scratch projects can't save over 5MB and the file size is only 26KB!!! I need help!!! It also sayed Scratch might be undergoing maintenance, but I'm not sure and I really need help!

when green flag clicked
set [scratch project file size v] to [anything under 5 megabytes]
if <that doesn't work> then
ask for help
end
