I'm aware TFCRP has had its fair share of drama recently, my sources being from a few close friends who felt as though TFCRP just wasn't for them anymore, but I'd like to give this roleplay a chance and just stay out of most things that make me uncomfortable. I am an ISFJ-t, though sometimes I fluctuate between INFJ-t and ISTJ-t. I'm generally a pretty withdrawn person irl, but I find online interactions much more easy and fun, so I'm happy to say I become more of an extrovert on platforms like this! ╰▹ I’ve been roleplaying since around halfway through the pandemic, and it’s become a part of my daily life, generally making me more confident in my writing skills and also generally just sharing my concepts and ideas. I check Scratch multiple times a day, even if I don’t reply immediately when I get a new roleplay reply, but I definitely read it all. Of course, some days I just have less motivation than others, but I generally can get myself to pull together a reply within 3-5 days if not the same day. I typically don’t join many roleplays where death is the roleplayer’s choice, so given the chance, I’d be eager to keep the kit for as long as I possibly could, though of course keeping with realistic cat ages, so I’d estimate at least 60-80 moons, and also with my mental health and irl issues in check. I do have to mention that next year will start to be busier for me, but I’m hopeful I can continue to be active on this platform as much as I can.

» Amethystkit will not doubt her gender identity much throughout her life, mostly leaning towards fem-aligning genders. Currently, I am still undecided whether she will remain cisgender or lean towards fem-aligning enby or bigender, but I think I’ll see how things go and what sort of cats she surrounds herself with to decide around her late apprenticeship.

» Despite being a flirty little minx, I can see a lot of that being more of a show for Amethystkit to simply play around, perhaps being a bit of a player and heartbreaker in her lifetime. To truly win her heart, it’ll probably take a bit more than pretty words and compliments. She’ll be most likely to fall in love with someone dear to her, a best friend or just someone that is close to her or one of her siblings. I can see her ending up as sapphic, though it really does depend on who she ends up mingling with in the early moons of her life, what gender her first friends are, and who she seems to attach to the most, as those are all factors that could go into her final sexuality. Because of that, I’d love to explore all sorts of relationships with her, with any gender.

» While Amethystkit may at first seem like someone who would show her love through words of affirmation because of her verbose nature, in reality, to those she cares for most, her love language ends up being a mixture of gift-giving and quality time, enjoying the act of creating something memorable for someone else, whether that be through a physical gift or a memory. In return, Amethystkit is quite chill with being on the receiving end; as long as she is getting attention from the person she loves, she doesn’t mind whether that love is shown through physical touch, words, gifts, acts of service, or time spent together, as long as they are both reciprocal and the relationship is two-sided.

Maybe that’s why she craved the metaphorical spotlight so much, to make up for how much the sun wanted to hurt her. Did it hate her? What did she do to it? Amy felt a cool breeze ruffle her fur, fluffing up her pelt in retaliation as the ground shifted under her, indicating a slope. Almost there. This place held memories for Amethystpaw, hazy ones that she could barely remember, yet memories nonetheless. The small moonlit clearing, the leaves that fluttered around her paws as she disturbed their resting place, the undergrowth just high enough to hide a trio of kits. The place where she had found her first anchor, her first lifeline. Scamperpaw and Kingfisherpaw did never understand her odd attachment to this place, finding it out of character for someone as ditzy and non-committal as herself. The night air was calming, the hoot of an owl the only sound she could hear in the stretch of silence. She had always been quieter alone, a ditzy daydreamer, sure, but she wasn’t one to talk to herself. She didn’t need to, voices and whispers already called out to her in the night, and she kept silent to listen. Were they trying to tell her something? Everything had always seemed so much clearer, so much easier if she came back to this place. She wasn’t born here, but she considered it her first home. A place that had sheltered her and her brothers until safety could come in the form of Boogarden and Vulturelark. A sanctuary.

She had never been one to easily fall like this, fall so far and so deep that her heart actually hurt, like the shadows that gripped it were trying to rip it out. Was this what she gets for playing with hearts so precariously? Her blurred vision seemed to only see the flowers as they were ripped apart by her claws, joining the growing mess under her. Love was stupid, overrated. She seemed to almost ruefully mourn her kit days, where love was something easy to come by. Easy to get. A bit of pouting and otherwise adorable antics were enough to get her the attention she desired. Had that ever been… love? Or just the lies attention used to envelop her in, a false comfort that she craved more than anything, not knowing the difference. A flash of colour caught her attention, the corner of her vision coming to the centre of her focus as she watched the shape of someone pad past her, laughing, smiling. As brightly as the sun that burned her. She was like a sunflower in that regard. She needed the sun so bad, even when it burnt so bad that it would hurt and wither her. She needed it.

Dreams that usually were left behind, though there was always something so… off-putting… about them. She felt frozen, unable to move and only able to observe. A flash of red, indistinguishable, yet Amethystpaw had a feeling she knew what it entails. Her world had always been dark, a complete blur with occasional flashes of light and colour, but never so clearly dark. It didn’t make sense, why a place in her dreams was so much clearer than her view of the living world. Despite her confidence, Amy could never suppress the feelings of insecurity and doubt when she was lost in the darkness. It was the first time that this happened in the middle of the day—usually only occurring in the middle of the night. She felt her neck fur stand on end, ears perked despite her paws not allowing her to move.

She liked the dark. Usually. It was safe, it was soothing. It was comforting after hours spent in the sunlight, but this was too much. Whispers seemed to either constantly fill her ears, or leave her hanging in eerie, fur-raising silence. ‘Make up your mind…’ she wanted to whisper to the shadows, but her mouth was too frozen to speak. The shadows looked like they were moving, devouring the flowers at her paws with wilting, swallowing shadows. Surrounding her. Like a hug, but there was nothing warm about it. It seemed to leave a small space around her, just considerate enough to give her air to breathe, but when she was finally able to move, it followed her. It clung on like a leech.

Amy closed her eyes, screaming for the whispers to stop, to leave her alone. As usual, as quickly as it came, the shadows left, leaving her dizzy and disoriented, but recognizing the familiarity of her surroundings. Huffing softly, she ran a paw through her fur, blinking a few times to reorient herself. The shadows always left, they never swallowed her whole. Just… she still felt a feeling of unease. Why did each time always felt a little longer than the last?

» Limited vision is a side-effect of the later-mentioned albinism that affects Amethystkit throughout her whole life. Because of the lack of melanin production—explained in the next section more thoroughly—it can cause vision impairment to affected individuals. Ocular albinism is the particular branch of albinism that usually affects the eyes, though this term is used usually for humans. As of now, I have not found any sources for cat-specific ocular albinism, so I will be treating it similarly unless someone else has the knowledge to correct me. Melanin is involved in the development of the retina, and also effectively absorbs infrared light, visible light, and ultraviolet radiation to protect the eyes from damage. Pigmentation is usually required for normal vision, while Amethystkit, like most other individuals with this genetic mutation, will retain some of her vision, everything is murky and dark to her, only being able to make out blurred basic shapes and colours, creating a rather dark world to live in every day.

» Albinism is a genetic mutation caused by lack of melanin, a pigment required to give colour to a cat’s fur, eyes, and skin. It usually causes the cat to lack colour, ending with a white coat colour and blue eyes. Sometimes confused with white cats, while cats can naturally have white fur and blue eyes too, they may or may not have blue eyes, whereas albino cats always will. Albino cats also typically suffer more side-effects than regular cats, being more sensitive to many health issues due to the lack of melanin pigmentation. Amethystkit will suffer from limited vision, as mentioned previously, as well as light-sensitivity. Since her irises are void of colour, light and more specifically, UV rays, can easily shine through her irises and cause eye damage which could lead to blindness or other permanent issues. She will be forced to avoid bright light and glare, and is more prone to cases of myopia and hyperopia. Her skin will also be more prone to irritation and require frequent maintenance to avoid sunburns. These hindrances will frustrate Amethystkit to no end, leaving her to have to hide in the shade of either the camp or territory if she wants to make it through a day without any issues. More open areas, especially like in WindClan or RiverClan territories could serve as a difficulty to navigate, and she may require a companion to accompany her to most places due to her limited sight. She will be a carrier of albinism, and if her lineage continues on through her, there will be a very small chance (approx. 1/2250 or 0.0004…%) that it will be passed down to her children. She may also have a shorter lifespan than many of her peers since she is an outdoor cat because of health risks like cancer, immune system disorders, and loss of hearing.

» Unless it is somehow revealed to her in the future, Amethystkit will remain blissfully unaware of her fate. Despite her flighty and ditzy nature, she rarely dreams and she doesn’t have a strong opinion on religion, therefore she’d find it hard to believe that anything could be wrong with her. Her encounters with the Dark Forest will only exist in fleeting dreams, occasional glimpses and flashes of darkness that humble the she-kit temporarily, giving her a moment of unease that quickly gets forgotten and overridden by reality. As she grows older though, these disruptive visions will start lasting longer and longer, as shown in the self roleplay, haunting traces, and become more and more clear and visually disturbing. Her glimpses of the Dark Forest will likely remain the clearest she will ever see, perhaps causing a momentary pause in her life where she grow a bit more withdrawn and paranoid, particularly in her late apprenticeship and then again in her older moons.

She often prefers proper communication when it comes to those that want to approach her, since otherwise she’d have to be careful who she speaks to, having to mostly rely on her other senses when she interacts with new cats.

╰▹ demeanour ꕀ She’s sugary-sweet, charming, elegant, and eloquent, radiating confidence and eager to bask in the attention of anyone who would spare her a glance and strike up conversation, though she isn’t the best at reading social cues and body language, since her limited vision hinders her in that regard. She frequents her flowery vocabulary and adores adding all sorts of adornments to her speech, filling it with pretty words and words of endearment, so it is quite often to hear Amethystkit speaking of her friends with nicknames like “love”, “beautiful”, “darling”, et cetera. She is happy to get into mischief, indulging her own whims and desires at any given moment in her day.

The world is cruel, and her purity was clearly too much for even the sun to understand, an angel among cats. However, looking deeper, those closest to her may see a vulnerable child unable to grow up and let go of her childhood, afraid of change, afraid of rejection, afraid of consequences. Fairytale characters always won in the end, right? Why couldn’t she, too…?
╰▹ beliefs ꕀ Amethystkit does not feel strongly to neither the Dark Forest nor StarClan, merely believing for the sake of believing if it’s what everyone else in her clan appears to believe. While she isn’t an atheist, she isn’t one to be particularly affected by religion nor regularly pray, preferring to believe in reality and the little moments in life that seem just a little too good to be coincidence. Specifically, she believes more in things like true love, dreams and wishes coming true, and fate than something as abstract as religion.

» Boogarden - her mother will quickly become a safe space for Amethystkit. Perhaps even seeing her mother as a messenger of seraphs, since as a medicine cat, Boogarden would be able to make everything better, for things to stop hurting her so much. While she will remain petulant and attention-seeking, a small part of Amethystkit will admire her mother’s resilience and gentleness, wanting to be just like her despite their vast differences in personality, constantly seeking out her stories and advice. Boogarden will remain a close parental figure as Amethystkit grows up, and will likely be just below her littermates in terms of those closest to her heart, unless something were to drive her and her brothers apart.

» Vulturelark - despite being similar to Amethystkit herself with their visual impairment, perhaps the young she-kit would find herself a little more distant from her parent. It’s not that she looks down on them—she appreciates the help and advice Vulturelark is able to give her, but Amethystkit doesn’t want to be like her other parent like she does her mother. Amethystkit hates lack of communication, and the quiet, withdrawn love that Vulturelark provides perhaps isn’t enough to fully satiate Amethystkit. Either way though, Amethystkit will still regularly seek their attention and affection, enjoying their time together and even having a love of birds and things that fly instilled into her by Vulturelark.

» Kingfisherkit & Scamperkit - subject to change depending on what the other kits end up being like~! she’ll always have a soft spot for her brothers, quick to tease, be petty, and fitting within the younger sister trope despite being the tallest one out of the trio, though Amethystkit is a competitive and vain individual, which could drive a wedge between her and her littermates as they grow older. Despite her unspoken dependency on one or both of her brothers in her earlier moons, she’ll try her best to prove that she could do just as well by herself, being reluctant to show too much affection and being eager to try and go out there and meet more cats that aren’t too similar to Kingfisherkit or Scamperkit. She doesn’t need double of either of her siblings, after all.

╰▹ a ditzy, girly, princess-like character with her head in the clouds and an airy attitude. She likely speaks with very flowery speech, formal and overly verbose to try and sound fancier and more respectable, though often it ends up seeming rather silly.
╰▹ she's convinced she's at the top of the world, playing with other cats like they're objects of entertainment and just that, though few may be able to cause a softer, sweeter side of Amethystkit to emerge.
╰▹ she likes to believe she's an angel who could do no wrong, rarely owning up to mistakes and preferring to play the blame game; quite ironic when she is less than holy due to her curse at birth.
╰▹ expressive and rather explosive, with big bursts of energy and emotions all at once.
