'save now' button in desktop version?

hey guys!

i recently kind of got into scratch again and of course i'm using the desktop app. because why would i use something that's slow and needs an internet connection if i can just… y'know, use the app instead?

i only have one little problem. well, little- anyhow. i can't save a project without making a new copy of it. which means that if i want to edit it and want to save it occasionally i need to save a new copy every time i want to save it which will give me like, 10 copies of the project. because scratch 2 desktop used to have this feature and because we're living in the 21st century * i feel like i'm just missing something.

to illustrate my struggles, i have created a photo gallery of the desktop application: https://imgur.com/a/8Pq6Ncb (i cannot for the life of me figure out why my links aren't working, maybe it's because i'm a new scratcher but uh, anyhow, this should work too!)

- yes i tried reinstalling the app;
- yes i really want to work in the desktop version. it's not that my internet is really bad or something, it's just that i prefer a application. things just loads faster and like yeah.

(also now that we're add it, is there an undo button in scratch or-)

thank you so much for reading and i hope one of y'all knows where the save now button in the desktop application is!

I can't see the gallery since the “click this” isn't a link.

wait it isn't? thank you so much for noting that, i could have sworn i saw the url=… in the square hooks, but one more try in that case! (or maybe there's some censorship for new scratchers? idk mate)

i've got a wonderful link, if that doesn't work, i have a less fancy way which should still work: https://imgur.com/a/8Pq6Ncb

okay so i just can't post links, i swear there is text but well apparently scratch just hates me, sorry guys, you'll have to copy and paste-

(warning: there is a curse word in the name of the project and i did not realize that wasn't allowed until my post didn't post because of unsuitable language so like if you don't wanna see a synonym for people procreating, that's your warning)
I suggest making a new image, bleeping out the curse words, so everyone can view it and hopefully give their opinion.

You could try saving it to your computer- then load it back into the editor.

What I do when I use the offline editor (I use it quite a bit) is just replace the file. When I save the project, Scratch asks me if I want to replace the file if the file name is the same. Unfortunately, there is no conventional “save” button in the offline editor. It's a little inconvenient, but it's easy to get used to.
(I hope this wasn't confusing.)

A Scratch modification called TurboWarp has a desktop version, and that (alongside many, many other improvements and features) has a button to instantly save to the current file. It also works on its web version on Chrome.

For deleted sprites/costumes/sounds, there's the Edit -> Restore menu item, though it only allows restoring one thing. For code, there's Ctrl+Z and the Undo option in the right click menu. For costumes and sounds themselves, there's an undo button, and I think Ctrl+Z also works.
