Dude, think some actual valid reasons how a potato emoji out of all things can help people, some things may be useless but they can help some

Then why is the broccoli and sushi emoji there? With your logic that a potato emoji would not be useful, we could say goodbye to a good chunk of emojis.

They were added as an April Fool’s joke, iirc
so, they were added on a special occasion, not because some kid wanted a random emoji.

this is pretty useless, and emojis like _apple_ and _broccoli_ were added as part of afd, and i never see these emoijis used on the scratch website anyway.

#43 Who said we shouldn't? Those were for April Fools 2015, and as of now serve no purpose.
When was the last time you saw one being used? As of now they're still here because removing them isn't the top priority and their permanence causes no harm.

If the waffle emoji was added for April fools then I think it’d be okay if the potato emoji was added for April fools. But I think it’d be random if it was added any other day? (Excluding potato day, if that exists)
