So we have 7 troupes that will be taught (or will the MC get to pick a couple to take?), Music Theory, Instruments/Singing, and maybe a band or choir where they have to audition.

Yup! We have a list of classes I think. Add on music production too. I wonder if we haven't updated it yet lol

Part of me wants to lean into the RPG aspect and have a conflict that draws a party of people outside the school. So let's say we do this. We have 2-3 full days, which should be enough to introduce the music groups (maybe one song for each, but we can spread it out so there's breathing room and classes). Add the tutorials (maybe 1-2 per day), then what happens that kicks the storyline into gear? I've been thinking a voice-stealer wouldn't be bad, but some of the groups focus on instrumental music. Maybe a silencer? Or a fun-killer? Oh, and just saying, but killing someone is an option. I kid, but, just saying… Jokes aside, maybe this idea isn't good. I don't know. What do you think?

I for one do not want dying people.

Let's stray away from killing people off. Voice stealer has potential, but I think right now the main goal of KFAA isn't to have a huge conflict like that. The goal of KFAA is to graduate, and get better at singing. The big conflict (if there will be) hasn't been established yet though. But I'd guess it wouldn't be something big like that, probably just trying to become a musician or something and make some friends.

Yeah no, it's more of an in-joke with another story I'm writing where I kill people for plot lol

Alright, this sounds good. This also lets us relationship build with NPCs and add relationship branches, which leans into the VN aspect more. I like it. Now I wonder if we can get love interests, or fights, or other things.

Oh lol that should be fun

Love interests will probably be sparing. I think the MC won't get a love interest, probably cause each player might like different people, but we can have NPCs have something with each other. Maybe one level is about helping the two of them embrace their feelings?

Oh and imo we should do a fight one. The fight could play out in a cutscene, and the song could be the two of them reconciling with the help of MC. There's a ton of potential there, great job for highlighting it

Currently I don't think we have plans for an antagonist, but I'm not quite sure of the game's direction so I won't say an absolute no.

So maybe the first day goes like this:

Schedule… 7 AM to 3 PM

1st Period: 7 AM to 8 AM
Instruments/ Singing - MC gets to pick an instrument, and OOH! I know! We could have like an interactive bunch of instruments! Anyone with instruments can record the sounds (I have a violin) or we could use Scratch (but I think just using a real instrument will produce more sounds). The teacher can tell cool facts and stuff, and as the game progresses, this turns into a band/ orchestra.


2nd Period: 8:05 AM to 9:05 AM
Music Theory - I kind of forgot what this is…

3rd Period: 9:10 AM to 10:10 AM
Choir - the person playing MC can actually record their voice and do some cool stuff with it? Maybe they could listen to someone sing and try to sing the notes and stuff?


4th Period: 10:15 AM to 11:15 AM
First troupe - cue rhythm game stuff


5th Period: 11:20 AM to 12:00 PM: FLEX
Somebody explain what flex is…

Lunch: 12:10 PM to 12:50 PM
MC talks with their friends about how boring math is (or something like that)


6th Period: 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM
Music Production - This is where it gets COOL!

7th Period: 2:05 PM to 3:00 PM
Another troupe, maybe?

However, I feel like maybe we have too many periods for the class. It is a game after all. Maybe we could shorten the length of school and have more days…

but I agree, plus that means we get to explore a completely different side of interaction
