The amen break idea is actually heat, I don't even need to learn how to use a sampler, it just works!

Got it! If you're looking for synth stuff, I'd say definitely learn sound design. I think you mentioned that you know about wave shapes and such, so that's all good. Make sure to use wavetables to find the coolest sounds. Definitely learn the ADSR envelope. It's one of the most important things about sound design. You'll thank me later if you decide to learn it. You should also check out unison and phase, those are really really cool.

You like Camellia! He often makes these wild heavy synths. From hearing it, it sounds like a couple things. For the leads at least, it sounds like a Saw wave. So maybe take that, and give it some unison. Maybe, 3-5 bands/whatever they're called with 5-15% detuning? And don't stop there, make one or two more of those but different octaves. OH, and maybe add some white noise! I know that sounds weird, but adding it in the background makes it sound HEAVY. And maybe add some heavy compression too
I know you don't like Vital, but something like this might work.

Cubeupload sucks so I'm just gonna send like 3 links to the image lol: https://cubeupload.com/im/Potang/vitalheavysawlead.png
You can hear an audio demo here.

If you ever need help, feel free to send a message on my profile. I'm no expert (i'm a noob lol) but I'm always down to try helping someone

You know what? Ahsoka, may I write some pop lyrics for the menu song that you could sing? I could get back to you in like 1-3 days depending on if writer's block happens. Also, if you DO say yes, what is your range (so I can set the instrument on Musescore)

How's everyone doing? Any progress? By the way, I created an Online Sequencer account, here's some old melodies that I never finished for you to use if you ever want.

Years of experience: it’s hard to pinpoint exactly since I started when I was little, using chrome music lab. Around 3.5 years ago, I started to make music using beepbox. I made music almost every other day. Around a year ago, my dad showed me garageband, which I used for half a year until the start of this year, where I tried FL Studio. I loved it and eventually got the producer edition, so I’ve been using it for six months. Although that’s short, I’ve quickly learned all the essentials like mixing and effects a decent amount. I’ve also been doing piano lessons for 4 years I think so I’ve been involved with music for a while.
Skill level (1-10): I would say seven but I don’t know what 10 would be so maybe around 7 to 8.5
Favorite Genres to Compose:
Electronic, downtempo, and almost anything with synthesizers. I can compose many genres as I like to adventure a little (you can see this on many of my projects), but there’s no guarantee I can make a specific genre well.
Artist that inspired you the most:
Home (mainly the song “Resonance”) since it introduced me to seventh chords, which I use in almost every song of mine.
Strengths:
Synths, downtempo, chill drums, nostalgic sounding stuff, seventh chords, progression, mixing, lyrics, I can’t think of anything else
Weaknesses:
Progression (I’m not the best at it I usually just have one chord progression per song and usually it’s just buildup, break, climax, ending), Singing, I also can’t think of anything else
Example of your best work:
https://youtube.com/@13unit?si=yxA2Rvj3_IK-BI5N
If you go to releases, you can see two albums. According to analytics, the songs time and past from the album nostalgia are the best, but the two songs from the summer EP haven’t had as much time for people to listen to. I personally love all four almost equally (Both songs in the summer EP, time, and past.)
What's something special about your music, that makes them yours? :
I usually use lots of arpeggios and I use lots of seventh chords. I also keep this simple as I usually don’t exceed 10 patterns a song.
Who's someone on this team that you'd like to work with? (Optional):
I barely know anyone here.
Extras:
That’s it.

Took a listen to your Summer EP (ironically the song I'm composing on my own right now has the same name!), sounds great! Very chill, nostalgic sounding. Thanks for filling this out!

If you ever feel curious, in the first page of this thread you should find the names of all the musicians. Feel free to check them out, everyone appreciates some attention.

Me neither. Though our first task is making a menu song. Make it J-Pop-y.

Correct. Right now we need to make some choices for the menu song

It's not required, but anyone who can could work on it! I want to get options for a menu song, so that us managers can decide on which will be the final one. I'll try to make one later, but i'm going to try having no bias, so I won't just choose mine to be the one to use. Who knows, maybe we can do a vote too

Female voice, alto, preferably can belt, but that is a heck of an ask, so not necessarily needed

Posted my proposed playable song. Was meant to be a menu theme but it didn't sound like it so I switched it up to be a playable song.
Feedback appreciated!
