I actually have always wanted location not given as an option. Sometimes it is annoying to see people put Cameroon or smthin even though we know they probs aren't from there. Then there will be the people who have like Sao Tome and Principe even though they don't know where that is!

Support. Even though it may seem silly to want to hide something as broad as the country you live in, some users may still wish to do so and that should be respected.
However, I have no support for the ability to type your own custom location. That would easily allow users to input things that aren't locations at all, and while that may be “fun”, stuff like that belongs in your About Me, not where your location should go.

It would make more sense for the option to just be viewable and selectable by default. It doesn't need to be hidden behind some easter egg.

I'm not really sure what that has to do with not wanting to publicize your location on Scratch. Besides, even though users can easily spoof their location, it's better than Scratch having to track where you are. But this is off topic and should not be discussed in this thread.

It is related though, there are people who use Antarctica and other locations to achieve what this suggestion does.

Correct. Therefore, the workaround is now declared as “null and void”. People need to stop sharing that here as it is no longer possible to do so.
