Why are my backdrops becoming costumes

Whenever I insert, paint, or pick a backdrop it turns into a costume. It says costume then the name of the file. All the code copies to each backdrop. What am I doing wrong?

i cannot post images because i am not a scratcher. For the code, if i insert a image as a backdrop then code something in it, then insert a entirely different image as a backdrop, it will share the first backdrops code. I know this is what costumes do, but im not inserting it as a costume. I am inserting it as a backdrop.
