Scratch 2 apparently "Not having Adobe Air" When I literally installed it.
My browser / operating system: MacOS Macintosh X 10.15.7, Safari 16.3, No Flash version detected
So I wanted to download Scratch 2 for my Mac, I went through the installation process and when I had basically everything done, I went to load up Scratch 2, but strangely it said "This application requires a version of Adobe AIR which cannot be found. Please download the latest version of the runtime from http://www.adobe.com/go/getair, or contact the application author for an updated version." I went to the link and it was just the download page that I had just gone to, I redownloaded Scratch 2 again and again, but It didn't seem to work. I downloaded the .air version to see if that worked and it seemed like it was at first, but as soon as the app started, it was just a white screen, with basically nothing else other than the Samsung Harman logo at the start of the thing. I've been trying for months now to get it working but it just doesn't want to, If anybody has a fix for this, I will be very grateful.

Which Adobe Air version are you installing (try older versions)? What Scratch 2.0 version is it (it should say on the download page you got it from or the url you got it from)? Macs running operating systems after 10.15 have problems installing 2.0 as well.

@medians The version of scratch 2.0 I was using was the latest one I presume because I just downloaded the one that was on the website.

Okay, but what Adobe Air are you using (try installing an older version)? And yeah, it’s the newest then because v448 was the first to be 64-bit, and you seem to be using Mac OS X 10.5. @medians The version of scratch 2.0 I was using was the latest one I presume because I just downloaded the one that was on the website.

Sorry for necroposting, but I managed to run Scratch 2. In order do this in 2024, you will need to already have the file scratch-461.air and Adobe AIR version 32 or earlier on your computer. AIR SDK is now owned by Harman and only offers versions 33 and on. I had to download version 32 from the Internet Archive. Hope this helps

33 works fine, just the newest ver does not work. Also, you don't have to have it already installed Sorry for necroposting, but I managed to run Scratch 2.
