Bump Option instead of writing 'bump'
I would recommend a bump option next to the thread/topic's first post (just for the OP) instead of writing “bump” consecutively

Yes, but maybe also a banner saying “This topic has been bumped in the last _____ minutes/hours/days/months” because then people might get confused. For example, someone last posted 1 week ago and you bumped. There is a topic below you which the last person posted 2 days ago. Some people might wonder, “How does this work?” So support if what I talked about was implemented.

Yeah, I support. It takes up whitespace to have 50 million ‘Bump’ posts all in a row (I hate having to do that in my own topics for that reason).
Perhaps a limit could be set to one bump per day or something similar.

no support. it's minimal effort to bump a topic with a post and it's canonical to every forum.

No support, Bumping is actually just an exploit of the forum system. If a thread has a new post it it goes to the front to show that its alive right? So would a “bump” button just be used to keep your thread alive for your own gain? I just see it being exploited more than It should, and also being more pointless Than useful.

No support, bumping is fine it even is suggested in one of the stickies. But it shows on your topic and alerts others that the topic is bumped. For this reason it is not over done. But everyone would continuously keep their own topic on the front page so it is counteractive meaning that new topics and especially ones with alot of activity are banished very quickly.

No support. A user will possibly bump a thread that has no use anymore.
