Scratch is for juniors, right? So why is there a Scratch Jr

So, most Scratch users have probably heard of “Scratch Jr” before, and so, knowing scratch is for kids in the first place, why does “Scratch Jr” exist? Like, some people might say it's easier to understand, but based off griffpatch's example, keyword, “@griffpatch” I think that's very much a lie, don't you think? So yeah, ultimately I see no reason for “Scratch Jr's” existance as whole.
suprisingly I don't think it's made by mit.edu as it doesn't have the same tag

it’s because scratch is intended for ages 8-16, while scratch jr is intended for ages 5-7.

AKA, while Scratch lets people of any age go on the site, ScratchJr. is meant to be a simpler (at the price of being somewhat weaker due to simplification) variation.
we all know scratchjr is infact better than scratch and any programming language out there!!1

Scratch Jr. also has little-to-no wording, which makes it more practical for younger kids who may not yet have a sufficient reading comprehension for more text-based languages (compare to regular Scratch, which has stripped out the need for understanding proper syntax but still requires a fairly good reading comprehension to use and understand).

The age 8-16 for Scratch is just a suggested age range based on average comprehension level. It's quite possible (and we have seen such cases) of younger users who have a high enough reading comprehension to use Scratch over Scratch Jr.

It's designed for people 5-7 years old- which means that it sacrificed text and turing-completeness for simplicity, hence @griffpatch's difficulty with it.

Myself included- although I was using the offline editor before Scratch 3.0 came out and (sometime later) I made an account, due to the concerns of my parents.
