Inkscape images not importing correctly.

Hi,

I have inkscape, and am trying to learn to use it for video game art.
I wanted to try and import a character i made into scratch to make a final game of mine, and when i imported it, one of the eyes was missing(perhaps it's because it was a linked clone? How would you avoid this?), and the image had a bunch of lines in it. And then, scratch outlined everything!

If you have any idea that could help, please let me know.

Maybe you're using features in Inkscape that the paint editor can't read…

What would those be?

Thanks for responding.

I basically just put together a character with shapes… It should be able to read that, right?

What extension did you save it to? (.svg, .gif, .jpg (.jpeg), or .bmp?)

Pretty much almost anything that is not present in the Scratch editor. ^^;

Actually this problem is pretty common between Inkscape vector files and {insert any other vector editor software or browser here}. Try sharing the SVG files with us, it would be good to get an idea of which part of an SVG image imports correctly and which does not.

So, just upload the sprite in a project? Sure, i can do that. And i think it may be that someway inkscape doesn't actually make a linked clone into an actual object until you do something, but that's just a guess…. I still don't understand all the black lines though.

Here's the link. The imported art is the start dude, and no, he shouldn't have a tone of black lines all through him.

No, I mean upload the file somewhere on a file-sharing website (like dropbox) so others can download it as see the differences between how it appears in Inkscape and how it appears in Scratch. We can't see these differences if we don't have the original SVG to analyze.

Hmmm…. Well, i don't really mess with such things… I really don't know much about it.

Sorry, i don't believe i can do that.

Hi! I realize this is about the same problem you're experiencing, but the thread is quite old. You're far more likely to get help if you post a new topic at this point - most people won't see your post and instead will respond to the OP, so your particular problem will go unnoticed. You can always include a link to this topic in the description of your new one.
