It's not okay-warnings don't affect if your project gets removed or not. And if it's scary enough, yes, you could get banned.

Depends on if you have been banned before, and those are because they are minor in scariness, or they haven't been reported yet.

Or if you've gotten related alerts, or if an alt of yours has received alerts or bans before, if you've ban evaded before, etc…

Really depends on the severity of the offence (in order from what's generally considered least bad offence to worst: just past NFE or minor violation of the rules, repeated violations of the rules, violation of the Terms of Use or other rules in a major way, illegal activity or instructions on how to do illegal activity) and if you've done similar things before.

If you need a warning it probably isn't allowed. Please describe your project. If it's allowed a warning is not necessary.

I don't think it's allowed but maybe scratch will put it as an NFE (Not for Everyone)

It really depends on how scary it is or not. TV-14/PG-13 or TV-MA/R level horror? Definently would not be allowed on Scratch. Keep in mind all projects need to be appropriate for kids ages 8 and up, so this should help when you're considering how scary you're going to make the project.

If it's too scary, things one of two things could happen:

1. If it may frighten some kids, but isn't bad enough to be removed, it could get NFE'd.
2. If it's way too scary, it would get banned.

Hope this helps

It's rare for a project to be banned (to my knowledge it has never happened)- that would entail making it not allowed to be even mentioned for reasons other than enforcing the rules. Projects are often taken down, which is what I think you were trying to say- a moderator unshares them from the website.
If it contains jumpscares (even with warning), gore (and a relatively small amount of blood), maiming, execution in any way, realistic guns and/or knives (knives being used as tools are okay, knives being used as weapons are not), or anything that can trigger someone with PTSD, then it will be taken down.

If it's mild horror it will likely be NFE'd.

Keep in mind that spooky themes are perfectly fine- as long as it's not frightening.

Ah, thanks for the correction. I thought projects being taken down and being banned were the same thing

It depends. I think that you can get banned for 16+/18+ rated scary, but not get banned for 7+/10+/12+ rated scary projects.

Most of Srcathers are at a young age (let's say 8 y/o). I think the scariness of your project should be ‘family friendly’, you probably don't want a 7 y/o to get too scared to report your project, or worse yet - just quit Srcath because of that.

I am pretty sure that a project that is 7+ or 12+. Scratch's target audience is 8-16 year olds. One of the main parts of Scratch's philosophy is that content is appropriate for all ages.

Warnings for projects are not allowed

Community Guidelines wrote:

Everything shared in our community should be appropriate for all ages. Any content that requires a disclaimer or warning isn't aligned with this philosophy and would not be suitable for Scratch. If a warning is needed, it is probably not appropriate for Scratch.

Projects that require warnings are not allowed. Having a warning in your project, such as “Watch for falling items” or “Warning: may be laggy” is perfectly fine- projects that require content warnings are generally not appropriate for Scratch in the first place, thus those projects are not allowed, and content warnings are not allowed, because if the project needs it, it is inappropriate.

Imo things can have content warnings can be there and the project could still be appropriate. Some types of things can trigger people, but might not be inappropriate for kids in general.
